Position: Short-Term Planning Analysis and Coordination
Division/Department: Volkswagen China Passenger Cars Brand
Location: Beijing
Main goals and objectives:
This position exists in order to ensure that all sales entities’ (SVW Volkswagen, FAW-VW Volkswagen and Volkswagen PKW FBU) strategic short-term planning fits to Volkswagen Brand’s overall strategic goals. This is executed by means of:
? Evaluation of past and projected market performance
? Review of strategic planning and identification of need for adjustment
? Analysis of JV sales performance
? Communication of strategic planning with HQ WOB and Sales Co. of JVs
? Team management
Your Responsibilities:
? Evaluation of past and projected market performance:
o i.e. by segment, sub-segment, sub-sub-segment, origin, etc.) to understand and determine industry trends and identify opportunities and/or potential risks. This critical analysis forms the basis for recommendations for business and volume planning
? Review strategic planning and identify needs for adjustment:
o Based on reported short-term sales performance, market analysis, competitor planning intelligence, etc.
? Analyse the JV sales performance:
o Supply evaluation (production, stock steering)
o Develop production capacity planning and platform strategy
? Communicate strategic planning with HQ WOB and Sales Co. of JVs:
o Liaise with HQ WOB on strategic planning development
o Provide input and guidance to JVs’ strategic planning
? Team management:
o Functional reporting of Short-Term Planning Performance Analysis and Short-Term Planning Analysis and Reporting to this position
o Set the targets for the team together with team members
o Monitor the targets and performance of the team
o Coach the team, daily management and guidance to team members
Our Requirements:
Professional experience:
? Minimal 6 years of relevant work experience, thereof 3+ years in the automotive sector and 3-5 years managerial experience
? Automotive knowledge and relative product technology knowledge
? Professional strategic planning knowledge
? Product management knowledge and skills
? Quantitative analysis knowledge and skills
? Bachelor's degree, preferably in economics, statistics or automotive; master degree, MBA preferred
? At least 3-5 years working experience in strategic planning, corporate strategy or consulting sector, preferably with Multinational Companies and with operation experience
Personal skills:
? Strategic thinking, structured thinking
? Results Orientation, independent thinker
? Efficient and maintaining poise under pressure
? Leadership, strong analytical skills and presentation skills
? Solid interpersonal, oral and written communications skills (Chinese and English). Especially with JVs.; German is an advantage
? Advanced database and modelling skills is an advantage
