Job Summary:

The System & Technology (S&T) department within Business Area Digital Services (BDGS) is responsible for driving key technology areas critical for the success of Ericsson’s product offerings. 5G and IoT powered by state of the art NFV infrastructure are keys for success therefore they are also in focus of activities driven by S&T In order to capture new business and secure technology leadership, it is important to embrace new technology trends and thus prepare our portfolio for the future business environment.

We are now looking for a System and Software Developer with solid competence in core network domains and particularly with deep understanding of network functions, their purpose and role in the network and their implementation. Interest in and willingness to explore IoT together with NFV stack and related business opportunities and technologies is a must.

Responsibilities:

• Understand and shape the technology development of BDGS in the IoT and NFV
• Keep yourself up-to-date in the state-of-the-art of IoT and NFV technologies, drive related strategic discussions
• Propose and drive system level studies on new technologies that can contribute to our technology leadership in the IoT and NFV space
• Follow the IoT and Enterprise related development activities in BDGS (Packet Core, User & Data Management, Digital Business Systems), and take on technical drivership and implementation role on a need basis
• Participate in cross Business Unit initiatives, work with direct and indirect customer related assignments, oversee research and university projects. You will establish a network involving different PDUs within BDGS and cooperate with the other DUs and support organizations and drive end-to-end studies across organizations.
• Drive and actively participate in prototypes activities and proof of concepts, foster creation of minimum viable products in the area

Qualifications:

• A university degree (MSc or PhD) or equivalent, preferably within Computer Science, Telecom or equivalent
• Possesses good skills in Evolved Packet System (EPC), including network configuration skills (e.g. configuring MME/EPG)
• Knowledge of IoT and NFV related technologies, ideally has an understanding of IoT utility use cases such as Smart Grid Communications and possible network implementation/solution
• Excellent communication, problem solving and presentation skills
• A genuine competence and interest in new and applied technology coupled with business understanding
• Passion and skills to actively participate in developing of technology prototypes, programing and hands-on skills
• Experience in application deployment in cloud is an advantage
• Being familiar or having active track record in opens source is of advantage
• Ability to work in international cross-organization team
• Good English spoken and written is mandatory
