What are my responsibilities?
- He/she is responsible for the early recognition of business-related problems occurring during the product development phase or the marketing phase.
- The role of the Product engineer includes the following tasks, responsibilities and competencies:
- Defining which information is needed from sales
- Proposing in-house development or external supply for the new product
- Creating the requirement specification
- Preparing the profitability calculation for the products or innovation projects under his/her responsibility
- Creating and coordinating the marketing mix (product/features, target price/costs, promotion, placement) for the products under his/her responsibility
- Compiling product-related factors, purchase-deciding factors as well as comparative competitive advantages (CCA)
- Preparing and executing market introduction and writing of market introduction reports
- Ongoing monitoring of the market during the project and timely initiation of required changes in the project accor-ding to change management procedures
- Providing production and delivery releases
- Ensuring product run-up as planned
- Supporting sales staff (including regional staff) with specialist information
- Monitoring the market after product launch
- Coordinating and executing technical analyses of direct competitor products
- Ensuring that all product-relevant data required for offer and order processing is up-to-date
- Ensuring that current sales information and user documen-tation (manuals, operating instructions, catalogs, etc.) for the products under his/her responsibility are available and regularly maintained in the required regional versions
- Calculating, evaluating and reporting on performance indicators which are relevant for his/her products (e.g.quantities, target price reached, “time-to-break-even”, EBIT,EV, sales, etc.) and scorecards
What do I need to qualify for this job?
- With engineering background and with being familiar with GIS product designing
- With marketing experience is a plus
- Fluent in English
