Location: Shanghai
Goals/Mission:
Technical procurement support to ensure early involvement of procurement and suppliers in the development/manufacturing and qualification process as well as developing suppliers from serials production, improving first-pass-yield etc. Support commodity team members on finding and implementing the necessary measures/actions to ensure design to cost product development and supplier management.
Working Partners/Contacts
Internal: Strategic Procurement, esp. Global and Regional Commodity Manager, Engineer, Supplier Quality, Production, Supply Management
External: Existing and potential Suppliers/Market Analysts Consultants, competitors.
Tasks:
- Independently manage supplier introduction and ramp-up project to ensure target achievement according to agreed milestones and business needs. For that, actively employ project management concepts and tools to ensure the proper structure, facilitate the follow up and keep the project team/sponsors and stakeholders informed about the status.
- Conduct "should cost" analysis/CAO for commodities in order to provide optimum input for quotes, workshops ,scope of materials(BoM assessment) and realization of potential for savings in the project.
- Facilitate and moderate the communication between global and regional New product Development projects(NPD) and the commodity managers in order to keep procurement organization informed about upcoming technologies/requirements and allow early involvement of suppliers.
- Ensure development of product /manufacturing process together with Engineering and supplier as well as undertaking and pushing forward cost reduction measures(design to cost, target costing, standardization, key data, etc.) in order to achieve the target for materials and reduce the overall material cost by fulfilling the necessary functions.
Education:
Bachelor or above
Knowledge/Languages:
- Professional expertise
- Technical/product knowledge: Castings and forgings
- IT tools and methods: SAP, Excel
- Languages: English
Experience:
- Several yeas of engineering and/or manufacturing experience, cross-functional experience from employee/project work in neighboring functional areas.
-Experience in new product development projects in the area of casting and forgings. Experience in ramping up manufactures for casting or forgings.
- Experience of working in a multi-national team needed. Exp. of working in a multi-national company preferred.
