1. Mission:
Coupang consistently selects the right projects and executes them with excellence. Project management is our vehicle by which we turn business opportunities into valued business assets. Our project management must be world-class deploying an effective process that facilitates the optimal use of resources (people, money and technology) over the life of a project to maximize value.
This role will drive large-scale engineering efforts that solve significantly complex or endemic problems. Decomposes complex processes into straight-forward solutions often inventing new ones.
The core purposes of the position:
? Develop and oversee company-wide (end to end) security and infrastructure project work plans; integrating activities, milestones and interdependencies across multiple projects/work streams, including relevant updates on plans; drive early anticipation of risks and issues, ensuring and tracking appropriate milestone plans.
? Work on projects where overall strategy is not defined. Must be able to deliver with complete independence. Make the case for technology programs. Influence teams to dedicate resources, and lead the effort (or find appropriate owner).
? Solve significantly complex or endemic problems. Work on large-scale architecture impacting multiple team and businesses. Use broad expertise or unique knowledge to impact systems and how Coupang operates.
? Provide technical and business leadership on program execution, and build consensus. Become a single point of contact for a program that span across different teams.
? Work together relentlessly with developers/engineers, testers, and across IT Infrastructure/Operations (including network, system and database architects/engineers and administers) and Security to drive wins for the organization.
Responsibilities:
? Work closely with the Director, Program Management and Metrics to effectively drive large-scale architecture efforts, impacting multiple team and businesses, that solve significantly complex or endemic problems. Decomposes complex processes into straight-forward solutions often inventing new ones.
? Develop and oversee company-wide (end to end) security and infrastructure project work plans; integrating activities, milestones and interdependencies across multiple projects/work streams, including relevant updates on plans; drive early anticipation of risks and issues, ensuring and tracking appropriate milestone plans.
? Participate in presentations to senior management. Bring strong, data-driven business and technical judgement to decisions.
? Exercise good judgement when making both tactical and strategic decisions. Use broad expertise or unique knowledge to impact systems and how Coupang operates.
? Employ deep knowledge of core system technology and/or broad understanding of Coupang’s system/platform technologies, identify gaps/opportunities within or among regions, architectures, and organizations to achieve world-class performance – faster, cheaper, better and safer projects.
Requirements:
? Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, System Engineering or related discipline
? 15 to 20+ years of working experience in which 10+ years spent in project management of global and/or regional initiatives
? Certified PMI Project Management Professional (PMP)
? Excellent program and project management expertise and discipline with respect to infrastructure project delivery
? Maturity to drive delivery, ensure quality and manage relationships across teams/departments and geographic boundaries
? Possess excellent cross-group collaboration and communication skills, with strong problem solving skills, analytical capabilities, and attention to details
