What are my responsibilities?
- Trouble shooting production, product quality, equipment functionality related problems and concerns from customers.
- Provide audit to existing mills for improved performance.
- Provide training to existing mill operators for improved mill performance.
- Participate in development, local independent or joint with COC’s, new equipment, or process, from solution selection, to market/customer targeting, implementing new product / solution at customer site, collecting performance feedback for continued improvement till standardization of the equipment / or process solution.
- Assist Proposals Department in proposal discussion and technical clarifications.
- Design and implement cost-effective equipment modifications to help improve safety, reliability and throughput
- Provide office based technical back-up and support to on-site engineers
- Coordinate with Engineering Department on implementing modifications and improvement to existing equipment.
What do I need to qualify for this job?
- Proven experience with rolling mill operation, understand well the process requirement on rod or bar mills;
- Basic mechanical engineering knowledge on rod & bar rolling mills;
- Basic electric and automation knowledge on rod & bar rolling mills;
- Good understanding of customer’s quality expectation and concerns, knowing the current practice and quality standards from the industry within China or internationally.
- Good rod / bar product final application knowledge from the downstream industry (wire drawing, cold upsetting, wire rope, PC products) (desirable)
- Good communication skills both written and oral;
