Job Summary


The Senior EmployeeCommunications Specialist is responsible for creative concept development ofdeliverables for communications initiatives and contributes to the creation ofcompanywide communications for a wide variety of existing internalcommunication channels.


Job Duties

- Prepares CommunicationsDeliverables

- Works with internal customersto determine scope, messaging, audience, and budget for various employee communicationsprojects

- Identifies accurate mix(e.g., memos, posters, newsletter, video, social media, employee portal, etc.)of communications deliverables to meet project objectives.

- Writes, edits, and proofreadsstories/articles to prepare submissions for internal publications (i.e.,pre-work communication meeting, loudhailer, quarterly employee magazine,UPSers.com, e-mail memo, etc.).

- Conducts interviews withemployees to get additional information for articles.

- Works with vendors tocreate deliverables for internal communications projects, such as posters,souvenirs, newsletters, etc.

- Works closely with RegionEmployee Communications team and assists in the local coordination of employeereward programs,

- Executes event/activities andmonitors progress and results

- Develops and executes projectmanagement plans for moderately complex and medium duration projects as well asbasic programs, such as Founders’ Day, long service awards presentation,pre-work communication meeting, etc.

- Ensures quality ofarrangement of events and activities, as well as any corrective actions forproblems during the preparation and implementation phase, in order to ensureefficiency of project delivery.

- Monitors feedback andperforms analysis to address all opinions regarding the communicationactivities to ensure effectiveness of the program and ensure accuracy of themessage conveyed.

- Provides routine statusreports to immediate manager to update status of budget utilization andinitiatives completed.


Maintains InternalRelationships

- Ensures deliverables alignwith UPS style guidelines and culture to convey the appropriate tone andmeaning to employees.

- Monitors, advises andsupports communication initiatives at local levels, ensuring consistency withChina internal communications strategy.

- Develops relationships withkey stakeholders to maintain awareness of company-wide issues and businesspriorities.

- Solicits information fromcross-functional resources to accomplish work.

- Recognizes individuals/groupsthat contribute to internal publications and employee events.

- Presents deliverables to theappropriate stakeholders for review to assure quality and accuracy.

- Supports in ad hoc/short-termassignments as required by the immediate manager.


Qualifications

- Bachelor Degree in English,Journalism, communications or a related field.

- Minimum 5 years’ experiencein employee communications or external communications/journalism.

- Outstanding Chinese andEnglish writing/editing skill.

- Strong organizational skillsand the ability to manage multiple deadlines in a fast-paced environment.

- Strong sense ofresponsibility, commitment and urgency.

- Good interpersonal skills anddemonstrated skill in influence.

- Graphic and layout design,photography and video editing skills are a plus.

- Strong work ethic care aboutthe quality of work and excellent attention to details.
