Microsoft Cloud Infrastructure and Operations (MCIO) is the engine that powers Microsoft's cloud services. The team is responsible for designing, building and operating our unified global datacenters; managing the demand planning and capacity utilization of our unified infrastructure; and responsible for all of the operations needed to run the physical infrastructure (including supply chain, hardware, power, security, and workflow teams). We focus on smart growth with an emphasis on automation, data driven engineering, cost-effectiveness and e***ironmental sustainability.



We deliver the core infrastructure and foundational technologies for Microsoft's over 200 online businesses including Bing, MSN, Office 365, Xbox Live, Skype, OneDrive and the Microsoft Azure platform. Our infrastructure is comprised of a large global portfolio of more than 100 datacenters and 1 million servers. Our portfolio is built and managed by a team of subject matter experts working 24x7x365 to support services for more than 1 billion customers and 20 million businesses in over 90 countries worldwide. At the forefront of the action in MCIO is our Datacenter (DC) Operations Group!



The Role:



In the APAC/EMEA Global Operations Manager (GOM) role, you will have an opportunity to lead and influence a dynamic team of professionals across the Information Technology (IT), Edge/WAN, and I***entory & Asset spectrum to support 24x7x365 DC operations across an entire operation. From managing global staff, coordinating with regional staff, and engaging Microsoft service groups mentioned above -- your broad range of skills will drive tactical and strategic direction and build consistency in delivering Microsoft's online services across the globe.



Reporting to the Senior Director of Datacenter Operations APAC/EMEA, the core responsibilities of this role will include:

• Lead program management of core projects and manage deliverables to successful execution

• Build alignment across key project stakeholders

• Provide clear and concise business case insights to drive key decisions • Build virtual teams to deliver core projects

• Collaborate with DCO Standard and Infrastructure Programs (SIP), Cloud Operations Platform Services (COPS) teams, Operations Services teams, and other teams to ensure service delivery to global datacenter operations teams

• Drive the overall “Rhythm of the Business” (ROB) by defining and driving all key dates including cross functional team meetings in support of datacenter operations

• Drive continuous improvements effort by reviewing incidents, escalations, identifying gaps and iterating on best practices

As a senior leader, excellent customer service, interpersonal awareness, program management, resource management, and communication skills will be pivotal in bringing your technical and leadership abilities to life, supporting Microsoft’s future success! Some regional and international travel will be a requirement of the role.



Skills, Qualifications, and Experience:

• 5+ Years’ experience in a production, mission-critical, 24x7x365 operations e***ironment

• 4+ Years’ experience managing large-scale and complex projects or programs

• Strong working knowledge of physical IT and Edge/WAN infrastructures (Enterprise or larger business context) • Strong working knowledge of audit and compliance requirements in a large global enterprise

• Demonstrated business acumen and fi***cial management experience

• BS/BA in Electrical/Mechanical Engineering, Computer Science, Information Technology, Math, Telecommunications, or equivalent experience preferred

• Strong communication, presentation, and influencing skills are a must
