Position Identification

Position Title: Senior Java Developer
Reports To: Team leader
Business Unit: Software Engineering and Innovation Services (SEIS)
Location: Shanghai, China

Position Summary:

The primary focus of the role will be on Java project development, provide professional IT services and support to our customers. While this will be done with the help of team leader, a high degree of execution will be required to analyst customer’s requirements specification, coding, and maintain current system, to ensure a satisfactory and efficient system can be provide to the customer.
The incumbent will work closely with the Team Leader, Project Manager and Business Unit Manager to ensure the project to reach our customer’s requirement.

Performance Review Period:

At the end of the probation period and then as a minimum at the conclusion of each financial year

- Other Developer(s)
- Other Team Member(s)

Position Requirements

Experience and Education

- College or above degree in computer science, software engineering or relevant majors.
- At least 3-5 years of Java related project development experience
- Proficient in core Java and J2EE, knowledge of Java 8 would be appreciated
- Solid Knowledge of Spring Framework, experience with Spring Boot is a plus
- Strong understanding of SQL and ORM such as Hibernate, NoSQL database experience is a plus
- Good Knowledge of HTML, CSS, JavaScript
- Knowledge in any of the following technologies would be appreciated : SOAP web-services, REST APIs, Maven, Thymeleaf
- Good command of spoken and write English, can have weekly meeting with US & Indian clients to discuss the projects in English.

Key Responsibilities

1. Development
- Analysis of client’s requests and technologies
- Responsible for the development of common function modules under supervision of the Technical leader
- Write unit tests to validate developed functionalities
- Conduct Test and report to the team leader
- Ensure good quality of code

2. Maintenance
- System performance review and optimisation
- Daily bugs fixing
- System enhancement based on client’s needs

3. Reporting
- Daily and weekly progress reporting on projects to team leader
- Weekly One on one meeting with manager to discuss project progress, work performance and improvements
- Weekly and monthly project status reports to US & Indian customer’s project and management team
- Weekly conference call meeting with customers in English

4. Miscellaneous
