Job Description
Responsible for managing the overall building design and engineering for a new Greenfield Light Duty Manufacturing Facility.
Responsible for managing the details of the design in accordance with the China Building Code and Corporate Standards.
Responsible for keeping the PM, the Design Team and the Functional Managers informed of the design status. Responsible for identifying deviations from approved budget, scope and schedule and initiates appropriate action.
Responsible for ensuring required design reviews are identified and accomplished.
Responsible for ensuring that the engineering and plant activities are integrated.
Responsible for ensuring that the design and the budget for the design are consistent.
Responsible for ensuring that scopes of work are prepared and approved.
Responsible for organizing and leading equipment review meetings with Design institute personnel.
Responsible for ensuring the required plant personnel are available for the design review meetings.
Responsible for defining the expectations for the design institute and ensuring that the deliverables are met.
Responsible for ensuring that requests for proposals from consultants and vendors are prepared, issued, returned and acted upon.
Responsible for ensuring that the required design data and equipment information is obtained or provided.
Responsible for Commissioning, Turn Over and Closeout for all Building and Process Support Systems.
Refer issues and concerns to Project Manger and Functional Managers as required.
Direct reports include Facility Engineers.

Job Requirements
Minimum of 10 years of Industrial Facility Design, Engineering and/or operations required.
This position would potentially transition over to a plant or division facility engineering manager position following the completion of the project.
