Job description
The position of Marketing Manager Companion Animal Group – Asia Pacific is a newly established position at IDEXX, based in the Asia headquarter office in Shanghai, China. The person will be primarily responsible for ensuring world-class launches of new veterinary diagnostic products and services and helping the regional organizations manage the existing product portfolio. Besides, he/she will facilitate best practice sharing and build marketing capabilities and processes in the region. The position will be focused exclusively on the Companion Animal business in the Asia Pacific region, and will collaborate with the regional teams in Asia Pacific, the International headquarters in The Netherlands and the Global teams in the United States. The position will report into the Director of the International Strategic Marketing group, located in The Netherlands.

To be successful in the role, you should be an outstanding collaborator with strong leadership skills proven in multi-cultural, multi-lingual environments. Your ability to prioritize, analyze and solve problems, and manage multiple projects simultaneously will help you deliver your business and organizational goals. We expect that you have successfully demonstrated product marketing skills in a matrixed organization, ideally in a regional position across Asia.
Being a confident and impactful communicator and presenter in English is essential for the role (if you speak Chinese or Japanese it is a plus), as you will often have to present or explain medical, commercial or product information to diverse audiences. We are looking for someone who has a strong curiosity for the business, has excellent listening skills, is open and flexible and brings a positive attitude to the organization.
Having at least a bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing or Science is a requirement for the job, background in biology, chemistry or animal health care will give you a competitive advantage. We expect you to have around 5 years of relevant marketing experience with at least 2 years of product management experience.
You should be prepared to travel extensively (~30-40% of the time) in the Asia Pacific region and outside (primarily US and Europe).
