Job Summary:
The Business Development Engineer has responsibility for investigating, determining and developing new customers for existing products or new applications for existing products; existing products for old customers or new products for old and new customers. And Supporting and directing field sales based on business intelligence and product management directives.
Job Responsibility:
- Acquire in-depth knowledge of all KANTHAL product offerings, current markets, value propositions and competitors
- Identify trend setting ideas relating to KANTHAL core competence by researching specific industries, events, publications and announcements
- Screen potential development ideas by analyzing market attractiveness, potential, risks, competitor analysis and potential investment requirements
- Communicate potential ideas to various levels of the organization
- Ensure efficient/effective marketing, advertising & promotional planning for new business opportunities in conjunction with Kanthal Marketing Department
- Investigate and Focus on new applications in which heating technology can be used, implemented and developed
- Establish and manage business development and business partner management activities.
- Work closely with both internal and external parties to frame and execute pre-agreed strategies built around developing new business growth.
- Responsible for input data and analysis of critical business information regarding competitors and market trends.
- Responsible for sales tools i.e. VBS tools and marketing material for products.
- Responsible for generating and updating presentation materials for internal and external discussions.
- Act as first contact for web/internet inquiries for Kanthal Service products.
- Collect market information about customers and industry trends. Create activity plans together with Sales Manager and responsible product manager(s). Make customer categorization, screening and decide on priority for development.
- Prepare presentation material with specific focus on applications related to local industries.
- Participate in different exhibitions and seminars related to these industries.
- Ensure a seamless transition of customer responsibility to sales team.
- Assist other sales and services resources when called upon by the Sales Manager.
- Assuring the validity and quality of applicable data, intelligence and forecasts.
- Prioritizing customer potentials for field sales contacts.
- Provide technical support to field sales. Together with the PU Shanghai organization generate drawings and calculations enabling sales persons to spend more time visiting customers.
- Handle daily communication with other PUs and SUs. Spider in the communication web. Supply PUs with market feed-back and product information from PUs to sales.
Job Requirements:
- Excellent technical knowledge of heating system products
- Prefer to capable in reading and creating drawings and calculations
- Mechanical, Metallurgical or Material engineer of at least Bachelor Degree.
- Structured personality with strong commitment
- Capacity to handle high workloads
- Strong communication skills and good contact network into Wire & Heating Technology global organization
- Service minded personality
- Fluency in English is mandatory
- Strong analytical skills to understand opportunity and quantify the same.
