Managing Director (CEO in Residence), Microsoft Accelerator Beijing



The Microsoft Accelerators team runs accelerators and entrepreneur-focused programs around the globe. We are mix of entrepreneurs, designers and engineers helping establish Microsoft as a strategic partner of the global startup ecosystem. We are looking for a serial tech entrepreneur to manage the operations and growth of Microsoft Accelerator in Beijing .

The Microsoft Accelerator in Beijing was awarded the best entrepreneurship programs / best incubators/ accelerators for the past 3 years in China and one of the leading programs in the world. The Managing Director of Microsoft Accelerator in Beijing is the key person to make this happens, and will bring this program to a higher level.



Ideally, you will be tech entrepreneur with understanding of technology, a love for the startup community. Specifically, you’ll will:

• Have proven experience in building a successful startup teams with successes and failures.

• Have the ability to deeply embed with the key public stakeholders, such as government, universities open source communities, i***estors and the press

• Have proven experience in working successfully within a large global corporation

• Engage with, recruit and build a vibrant regional community of entrepreneurs

• Manage a broad portfolio of business, community and government engagement

• Be very collaborative to build the brand equity of Microsoft Accelerator in conjunction with other accelerators in China and WW



Additionally, you embody these characteristics and abilities

• Can build a world-class mentor, angel/VC and customer network to fuel the growth the portfolio companies

• Thrive on collaboration within Microsoft and with the wider tech industry and ecosystem

• You are a great people manager combined with operational excellence

• Demonstrate innovative and out-of-the-box thinking in working with this unique community

• Fluent in English and Mandarin

• Deeply embedded in the local startup ecosystem

• Have strong relationships with local tech influencers, incubators, accelerators

• can engage and recruit top entrepreneurs and startups at different stages

• know how to build an amazing product, know how to develop customers and grow a company

• previous experience with building a startup or building a tech community, is a plus



You’ll become a key figure of the local startup ecosystem and will be critical to fueling its growth. Ideally, you’ll wear multiple hats - the face of Microsoft Accelerator in Beijing , spokesperson for Microsoft in the startup ecosystem, and you will growth the Microsoft Accelerator brand, presence and value.
