JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

- Draft, review, and revise contracts, agreements, and documents for the business and foreign investment projects.

- Provide legal advice and opinion on legal matters to minimize exposure to liabilities and disputes.

- Prepare legal and corporate documents for routine legal works and foreign investment projects.

- Manage and control legal corporate work which including legal entity’s standards and regulatory rules, its certifications annual renew or administrative approval case by case.

- Co-ordinate with external lawyer (both China and Foreign) on legal matters.

- Handle liaison work with government authority Liaise with other function(s) to smoothed legal transactions.

- Provide legal guidance on Intellectual Property compliance issues and assess potential risk where there might be alternative interpretations.

- Maintain legal team databases and filing systems.

- Perform other related duties as assigned based on chief legal counsel need.

QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE

- Legal degree and appropriate certifications with excellent academic credentials from a top-ranked law school preferred.

- Minimum of 5 years with a top tier Chinese law firm or from top Chinese or multinational companies.

- Ability to make sound business decisions quickly and in the face of ambiguity and uncertainty, and with too little, or too much, information.

- Strong command of the details of relevant laws and regulations but with an ability to make this material understandable and actionable for a business audience.

- Ability to manage and prioritize multiple projects.

- Strong communication, writing and presentation skills.

- Desire to work independently and cross-functionally in a fast-paced environment.

- A creative problem solver who is open to new ideas and new approaches.

- Fluency in English and Chinese.

- IP working experience is preferred.
