Core CFO responsibilities
? Accounting and finance: Ensure accurate data capture, internal review and approvals, correct account distribution, etc. to ensure company records fully reflect company status and performance, provide high level of transparency.
? Reporting to local tax bureau: Ensure the company complies with local laws and regulation and follows sound practices in China.
? Internal controls and compliance: Relate both to financial, legal and “business” (ethical) compliance, sound segregation of duties, control and approvals, review, etc. The company is also working to strengthen this area with SAP ERP/FICO implementation, as well as will start compliance project with assistance from external law firm and later also accounting firm.
? Management reporting: At company level, brand, division, etc. + also develop how fact based reporting used by business teams (understand and take actions on basis of fact based reporting).
? Budget and performance targets for brands and business teams: While we are working with revenue budget and targets then we are not preparing complete P&L and investment budgets (except for ad-hoc investments) today. Those practices need to be established, however, can be fully developed when time allows it.
  
? Annual audit and statutory reporting: Ensure company follow sound practices and conduct the work on a timely basis (historically no major issues in this area but could be more professional).
? Tax planning and optimization: Company follows very high degree of compliance – and historically we have not had any tax cases during past 14 years, however, there might be room for optimization.
? Treasury and banking: Rooms for optimization exist (historically we follow-up conservative practices in this area but will be open for some review of opportunity to improve).
? Internal audit: Might be relevant to establish related to Direct and Indirect procurement.
? Other: Change of organizational set-up and skill building, change of practices from basic bookkeeping controls to more business oriented controlling practices will be needed. Follow-up on-going technology project to increase efficiency and reduce number of head counts.
  
General business controlling:
? Company IT road map – usage by business teams: Accounting & Finance team will very much depend on effective adaption of new IT systems currently being implemented (example: SAP ERP/FICO, Centric PLM/Buying/PO, ordering and allocation systems, TMS (transport management system), WMS projects, upgrades of POS and multi-channel retailing systems, Digital signature and many additional system) and many more systems. Ensure to take advantage of systems to increase data capture, approvals, etc. which will cut manual work in accounting and make it possible to shift focus to business controlling.
? Controlling related to Direct procurement: Review and target setting for five (ONLY, Vero Moda, Jack & Jones, Selected and J.Lindeberg) buying managers. Analysis and intelligence in respect of cost of raw materials, labor charges and other expenses.
? Controlling related to Indirect procurements: Business and case review with indirect procurement teams (gradually being centralized + transparency to be ensured with new IT systems under implementation). Analysis and intelligence in respect of cost of raw materials, labor charges and other expenses. Target setting and driving cost reduction. Establish indirect procurement committee process also.
? Logistic productivity and ROI for investments: We are currently completing RMB +200 M logistic hardware investments (excluding RMB 300 M building) to ensure payback on investments. Focus on cost, head counts, KPI, etc. review with logistic director.
? Build professional procurement controlling: in line with business targets above. 举报 分享
