Technical Support Engineer

General Summary/Scope 基本描述
The Application Engineer will be responsible for all R&P enquiries and providing technical quotes and supporting drawings in China. The Application Engineer will be based in Dover, Shanghai office and this position reports to the Technical Support Supervisor.

Major Responsibilities/Duties 工作职责
· Design cylinder rings and packings for new, replacement, upgrade and reconditioning solutions
· Select materials to be used based on suitability for the application and commercial implications using the following tools: AutoCAD/Draftsite; new Cylinder Ring programme (live early July); a new Case Design Programme will be made available later in the year following development along with a number of other US based tools.
· Select product types/styles to be used based on suitability and performance requirements.
· Based on the above criteria produce customer drawings and a detailed engineering design file to be used later by the drafters/drawing office for detail drawing
· Produce a commercial quotation based on information provided by sales engineering
· Work with OEM’s to produce design criteria/solutions for new build projects.
· Support sales engineers with technical queries and drawings.
· Support customers with problems, either Cook related or if a competitor had failed to provide a solution.
· Translate and maintain technical engineering standards.
· Produce reports for customers following any problems/issues.
· Support shop floor with questions & queries relating to product designs and drawings.
· Support and train shop floor personnel in taking technical dimensions for packing cases that are sent to Suzhou for repair

Key Requirements 主要要求
Language and Education:
· Good writing, reading and communication skills in English and Mandarin
· Computer literate in MS Office, Excel and Outlook
· Mechanical Degree qualification or equivalent
· Background in mechanical engineering or similar field

Professional Skills and Experience:
· 2 years of professional experience in Oil & Gas and Petrochemical industry throughout China
· Specific experience in reciprocating compressors and compressor wear parts with field services is a strong differentiator
· Strong technical knowledge of or ability to learn about our product portfolio
· Experience of working in a multinational and multicultural environment is an advantage
· Good analytical and problem solving skill
· Ability to prepare and execute technical sales presentations at customer locations
· Pleasant appearance and outgoing personality
