GENERAL ROLE DESCRIPTION:
Senior management level responsibility for construction efforts on multiple projects with responsibility of managing to established budgets ($50 - $150 Million). Will provide leadership to the team to include administration and resource planning and primarily will manage in-house relationships to include estimating, scheduling, show ride installation and integration. Acts as direct point of contact with all construction vendors and contractors, manages the project delivery system and multiple bid packages. Has responsibility for both strategic and technical development on projects. Transitionary role to executive management.
CORE FUNCTION & RESPONSIBILITIES:
· Manages construction efforts on multiple projects through installation.
· Leads/manages the project delivery system.
· Manages multiple bid packages.
· May take on the role of general contractor on the project.
· Performs constructability analysis and value engineering recommendations.
· Act as direct point of contact to all construction vendors and contractors.
· Management of pre-construction services scope and provides pre-construction input (varies by project).
· Monitors construction, schedule, quality control, and safety.
· Monitors construction management contract compliance (if applicable).
· Makes recommendations to the project manager on bid packages and develops, receives, and awards bid in conjunction with contract administration.
· Monitors submittal and shop drawing process.
· Reviews and approves contract application for payment.
· Responsible for on-site construction documents.
· Maintains clarifications, submittal, and deficiency logs
· Coordinates with governmental and utility agencies (i.e., Reedy Creek Energy Services, Reedy Creek Improvement District etc.).
· Coordinates with other WDA departments and personnel.
· Responsible for personnel management of direct reports to include performance reviews, performance counseling, talent development etc...
· Prepares site logistics plan.
· Reviews and approves contractor's project schedule.
· Insures proper interface with WDA Ride & Show, and Facilities Management (i.e., ride legislation, code compliance).
· Facilitates production of mock-ups for approval (A&E, Creative, and Operator).
· Manages insurance program in conjunction with Walt Disney Attractions Safety.
· Interfaces with WDA Senior Executives
· Adherence to all personnel policies and company handbooks
TECHNICAL SKILLS AND REQUIREMENTS:
· College degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, Building Construction, Engineering, Architecture, or related profession.
· 10+ Years job related experience (or 7-10 years WDI construction management/coordination experience) strongly desired
· Excellent technical skills and the ability to manage numerous resources to manage people.
· Proven experience managing the construction development process and documentation (shop drawings, document control, punchlists)
· Ability to lead the project team, be the team leader
· Experience with and proven understanding of scheduling, estimating, budgeting and quality control
· Ability to manage through conflict, complexity and to problem-solve issues to resolution
· Experience with hiring outside vendors, professional bid packages
· Experience in the contract administration process (contacts, professional fees)
· Ability to understand the needs of the client and to manage relationships between the owner/operator.
· Computer literacy (Word, Excel, E-Mail)
· Ability to comfortably communicate, both verbally in presentation and conversation, and written in correspondence to project team, vendors, consultants and WDA partner. Exceptional communication and people skills.
· Ability to give direction, adapt to change/flexibility, establish relationships, build concensus, anticipate roadblocks, and work in a team environment
JOB SPECIFIC SCOPE:
Project/s: Primarily manages in-house relationships (estimating, scheduling, etc.)
Administers changeorders through the project manager.
Budgetary Amount:
Risk: Will manage to the budget ($50-$150 Million USD) but does not have overall budgetary and negotiation responsibility. This is done by Estimating.
High - Schedule focused. Higher level of complexity.

EDUCATION, TRAINING, KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS:
· College degree in a WDI core discipline such as Construction Management, Civil Engineering, Architecture, Interior Design, Landscape Architecture or related profession.
