POSITION SUMMARY:
This position is for an Accounting Manager and will encompass all elements of accounting, controls and financial statement oversight within Veeder-Root Petroleum Equipment’s (VRPE) business, based out of Beijing and Shanghai, China. The individual in this position will be responsible for financial accounting and controls, revenue and cost analysis, variance analysis and financial reporting. In addition to these key items, this role will lead key projects and help analyze complex business situations to help drive growth and performance.

RELATIONSHIPS:
Reports to: VP of Finance, Veeder-Root

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
? Revenue – analysis and reporting of sales, margins, and pricing variance
? Cost Analysis – analysis and reporting of operating costs and operating efficiencies
? Support monthly financial close process including preparation of journal entries, submission of results into global consolidation system and flux analysis.
? Own account reconciliation process to ensure staff completing reconciliations monthly and reviews are completed timely, with risks communicated and mitigated appropriately.
? Direct Reporting ownership of 3 staff and corresponding oversight of respective functions:
o Billing and accounts receivable
o Inventory management and cost accounting
o Accounts payable, tax and cash management
? Internal and external audit support, and SOX testing
? Corporate financial and tax reporting
? Focus on continuous improvement of financial processes, systems, and methodologies

EDUCATION/WORK EXPERIENCE:
? Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Finance or Accounting required
? Fluency in writing, reading and communicating English required
? 3-5 years’ experience in accounting or finance at publically traded company required including closing and forecasting activities, Sarbanes-Oxley compliance, ERP/Financial consolidation systems; and/or experience auditing these processes through 1-3 years’ experience at professional services firm or internal audit function.
? 1-3 years’ experience managing direct reports required.
? Strong level of computer knowledge in Excel and Word required.
? Experience with global consolidation system, specifically HFM, preferred.
? Attention to detail and high level of accuracy required.
? Ability to multitask and prioritize required.
? Results oriented – driven to meet deadlines while not sacrificing quality required.
? Adaptability to changing methods and environments required.
