Job Purpose
Membership is the key element in RICS’ overall offering to the market. The membership team is critical to this success together with the whole development in RICS China.
The purpose of this role will be to implement membership operations in South China in line with our business plan.


Key Tasks & Responsibilities

The membership officer will be required to support the membership manager in implementing membership operations in South China market in the following areas:
? Supporting with the organisation and implementation of the Assessment of Professional Competence (APC) process
? Guiding potential members and applicants through the APC process.
? Answering first line queries from members
? Supporting in such membership activities as taking subscriptions and renewal, ensuring compliance with RICS rules, procuring and training APC assessors.
? Collaborating with colleagues within the membership function, and cross-functionally with training, conference and other functions.
? Maintaining good records, including updating CRM records.
? Any other duties that are deemed suitable for the role


Key Relationships

? Externally – RICS members and non members, key accounts and other organisations providing membership potential, individual members.
? Internally – Membership Operation Manager, BD manager in Guangzhou office; All membership team, training team, communications team, conferences and events team etc.
Qualifications and Experience Required
? Experience in operations of the membership function within a professional body preferred.
? Experience in client liaison and relationship management, including commercial partners, key accounts – ideally in a membership body context.
? At least 2 years’ experience in a similar position.
? Relevant professional qualifications desirable.

? Ability to work independently to carry out duties in line with the business plan.
? Willingness to accept constructive feedback from stakeholders to improve delivery.
? Willingness to develop relevant skills and experiences as part of the membership team in South China.
? Willingness to establish strong links and influence colleagues who will not be in direct line of command (eg. functional managers in China and globally).
? Willingness to build relationships with potential members and existing members.
? Willingness to converse, convince and persuade with credibility at all levels.
? Willingness to represent and portray the RICS brand to existing and prospective firms.
? A developing understanding of the importance of relationship management in the context of profitability, life time value and market needs.
? Ability to manage a pipeline of candidates to membership, time and cost effectively and in line with quality requirements.
? Excellent interpersonal skills, an outstanding team player with a positive attitude.
? The ability spot opportunities where others fail.
