Why does the Global ATS role exist?
The Global Account Technology Specialist (Global ATS) adds value to Microsoft by providing technical strategy and guidance to global customers, resulting in globally aligned deployments that represent the full Microsoft portfolio of enterprise solutions. Success is measured by revenue targets that are met or exceeded, an increase in global and downstream deployments, and x% integration/migration opportunities (all as defined by FY commitments).
How does the Global ATS role add value?
The Global ATS role adds value by:
1. Developing account technical strategy and ensure downstream ATS’ and RTMs execute against it.
2. Brokering Microsoft resources for the global account to gain a trusted relationship with multiple customers.
3. Investing in and developing key technical relationships with customers in the global account that span Director level to the CIO level and up to the CTO.
4. Ensuring Microsoft is in a favorable Standards position relative to the competition.
5. Developing a healthy global pipeline of qualified opportunities that represent enterprise solutions and the customer’s global technical architecture.
6. Defining global IT Infrastructure and Client solutions that address customer short-term and long-term pains and/or opportunities.
7. Ensuring handoffs to, and engagements with, the appropriate resources (within the global account team, the ATU or STU, to Partners and/or Services) at the appropriate phase of the MSSP.
8. Delivering presentations, briefings or technology reviews that reinforce the IT Infrastructure for a People-Ready Business value propositions.
9. Ensuring that global customers are aware of Microsoft Enterprise Solutions across the full Microsoft portfolio.
10. Contributing to the recruitment, engagement and readiness of global Partners who can help the Global ATS role scale capacity.

The Global ATS role is unique in:
1. Its in-depth knowledge applied to orchestrating a successful global deployment.
2. Its in-depth knowledge of one or more competitors that have global consequences for the customer and Microsoft.
3. Its responsibility to focus on the technical architecture of a global customer that represents the full Microsoft portfolio.
4. Its self-sufficient responsibility for end-to-end opportunities with executive customer relationships.
Hiring Profile
- Has built relationship capital with IT Directors and successfully influenced CTOs.
- Global perspective - sensitivity to, and experience working in and with multiple countries cultures and practices.
- Bi-lingual fluency for some accounts is a necessity.
- Experience in a global environment where customer contacts and knowledge are leveraged to prospect opportunities within assigned accounts.
- Combination of business acumen and IT Infrastructure expertise to understand how customer business issues impact their IT environments.
- Project and/or opportunity management expertise.
- Experience making presentations to IT executives.
- Ability to solve complex problems and present the problems and their resolution in a clear and concise fashion.
- Experience in Enterprise technology sales quota responsibility and account development, planning and profiling strategies.
- Working effectively within a virtual team, taking strategic direction from opportunity owners and considering inputs from team members.
