As an SSP - Government for government you will be responsible for delivering the vision & customer value proposition around the Microsoft technology. You will own a sales quota for the products in a defined set of Public Sector Territory, Gov industry. As a key member of the Solution Sales Team, your responsibilities include:
- Analyze customers financial and business information to identify business pains and qualify these pains with new and existing contacts
- Create and execute opportunity plans to exceed revenue objectives for your products
- Leverage a team of extended resources (Microsoft and Partners) to create and deliver compelling Gov industry solution proposals and business value demonstrations
- Gain customer executive agreement on the business value of proposed gov industry solutions
- Identify and dislodge the competition to grow the share of Microsoft technologies
- Ensure satisfied customers accounts that can be referenced in future sales engagements.
- Build up best practice and selling model for cloud solution replication, including target solution or account penetration, cross-selling or up-selling and replicate to entire team
- Develop in-depth understanding of these products and related cloud solutions and the value they bring in solving business problems
The Key deliverables will be:
- Achieve solution selling revenue targets in assigned territories
- Build a foundation for long term Gov industry solution revenue growth in assigned territories
- Contributing to the recruitment, engagement and readiness of partners who can help the SSP - Government role scale capacity.
- Identifying compete gaps within targeted accounts and the ways in which Microsoft can dislodge the competition or augment the share of Microsoft technologies within those accounts
- Develop and own key relationships in assigned accounts
As an SSP - Government, the successful candidate will enjoy one of the most impactful positions within Solution Sales Team. In addition to senior level interaction with our major customers and simultaneously work with Microsoft’s BG/STU/PAM teams to share competitive insights and recommendations.
Requirements and Skills/Qualifications:
- Deep understanding Public Sector industry and territory. 5+ years of IT working background in Public Sector territory with sales experience
- Well know how to sell Gov industry solution, generate solution selling opportunity and close deal
- Strong, proven track record of solution selling, based on business value principles, including 5+ years of experience focused on selling solutions to solving public customer problems based on IT technology
- Strong communication skills to CxO level in Public Territory
- Demonstrated ability to perform beyond the typical sales role, e.g. breaking the mold in terms of size transaction and complexity of sale
- Demonstrated ability to lead and management regional virtual functional teams
- Demonstrated ability to develop strong relationships with counterpart sales teams in key partners (SIs, Outsourcers, and ISVs)
- Dedicated to meeting the expectations and requirements of internal and/or external customers
- Problem Solver - Uses systematic approach to uncover true problem(s) and practical solution and can marshal resources to solve problem
Meaningful prior work experience at one of the following:
- Large competing software companies
- IT Solution Company with similar territory accounts
