Official Title: Communications Specialist-external
Location: Shanghai Xinzhuang (shuttle bus provided)

Purpose of the position:

The Communications Specialist supports the Communications Manager in developing and managing a communications program to increase the brand awareness of Evonik and its products towards the public and other external stakeholders.

Responsibility:

1. Establish and cultivate effective media relation with target media through day-to-day liaison, press release and news distribution.

2. Handle media enquiries, prepare and organize media interviews, and ensure that answers are accurate, approved, and logged for future reference, evaluations, etc.

3. As part of the crisis communication core team, manage media enquiries and provide press information during a crisis.

4. Be responsible for drafting the content and day-to-day maintenance of external media, e.g. Internet, Magazine, newsletter, etc.

5. Support for other PR or communications tasks upon request.

6. Support for other projects or corporate events upon request.

Requirements:

Capabilities of observing, analyzing and interpreting public attitudes/issues and plan

Capabilities of implementing effective programs to achieve corporate goals

Familiarity with media landscape and operation in China

Skillful oral and written communication in both Chinese and English

Mini Education level: Bachelor
Major preferred: PR, journalism or English language
Language skills: English Fluent
Minimum years in employment: 5-6 years
Preferred industry experience: Chemicals or B2B, PR, media management

Evonik and Evonik in Greater China
