The Windows Phone Division (WPD) has a vision to simplify and enrich life for people around the world with Windows Phone based devices they won’t be without.
Roles and Responsibilities:
The Windows Phone Category Lead owns and drives the Windows Phone business strategy and operations, marketing program development and execution, as well as the Windows Phone partner ecosystem development efforts in China.
1. Business Strategy and operations
a. Work with various sales and marketing teams to define the WPD business development strategy and the long range plan
b. Conduct and manage the standard Rhythm Of Business(ROB) processes and build a strong synergy between China WPD sales& marketing functions, local leadership team, APAC time zone team and the related functions at corporate headquarter in Redmond
2. Marketing plan development and execution:
a. Windows Phone brand awareness and perception enhancement: Enhance and optimize the brand awareness and perception of Windows Phone platform and Windows phone by leveraging with both conventional marketing tactics and the emerging digital marketing channel and practices
b. OEM Joint Marketing Plan: Work closely with OEM partners in China to plan and execute the year-long new Windows phones launch program and the sustaining promotional efforts during the whole Windows phone product life cycle
c. Mobile Developer Marketing: Develop and execute marketing programs targeted at mobile ISVs to enable and enhance a rich mobile applications and services environment for Windows phone users in China
d. Mobile Operator Marketing: Work closely with mobile operators in China to develop and execute the operator-customized Windows phone and the Windows phone services launch and sales sustaining programs
e. Retail Channel Marketing: Develop and execute the retail marketing programs to educate and excite the retail channel partners and retail sales personnel so they will be our strong advocate and partners to promote the Windows phone and to provide the best purchase experiences of Windows phone to the massive consumer audience at retail
f. Mobile Enterprise Solution Marketing: Work closely with SIs, Microsoft internal enterprise sales force and enterprise customers to show-case and promote the advanced mobile messaging and mobile LOB solutions of Windows Phone platform in the enterprise environment in China
3. Windows Phone Ecosystem Development and Management: On top of the sales and marketing cooperation, the WPD Category Lead will need to initiate, develop and optimize a vast base of ecosystem partnership around Windows Phone platform in China, such as with mobile ISVs, mobile operators, mobile SP/CP, etc.
4. Key contributor in the development of consumer scenarios that span Windows, Windows Live and Windows Phone

1. Ability to drive and influence sub revenue and P&L performance as well as long-term success within country
2. Strong know-how of OEM, Mobile operator, ISV and retail channel business models and tactics
3. Leadership in digital marketing practices
4. Understanding of the importance of Windows Phone eco-system and the ability to drive the development and maintenance of a favorable ecosystem around Windows Phone platform
5. Knowledge to understand and drive consumer satisfaction towards Windows phone products
6. Knowledge to understand and work with sales segment leads to agree on segment revenue targets and cost of sales
7. Demonstrated ability to develop innovative consumer marketing strategies that will drive core metrics
8. Experience leading diverse v-teams spanning both corporate and field teams to drive win-win decisions against aggressive timelines
9. Strong analytical and problem solving skills
10. Maturity in the following competencies: cross-group collaboration, dealing with ambiguity, Business and Strategy Leadership, Integrated Marketing Planning, and Customer Insight (as it relates to and through partners)
11. Excellent written and verbal communication skills
12. Solid understanding of the Microsoft channel sales model
Great attitude and a passion for driving results and seeing projects through to completion
Experienced Required:
1. More than 10 years experience working in consumer smart-mobile devices and/or mobile services industry. Marketing BA and/or MBA is preferred
2. Ideal candidate will have prior consumer marketing experience, ideally of technical products or services such as Smartphone HW or SW or consumer electronics products
3. Better to have leading teams or project teams experience in the past; strong cross group collaboration skills
Fluent in Mandarin Chinese, proficient in English
