Role purpose / Accountabilities
Syngenta Biotechnology China (SBC) is seeking a highly motivated scientist to be part of its Genome Editing Center, as a member in Editing Technology and Analysis Group. This person will be a key mem-ber to accomplish research objectives and deliver genome editing technology development to crop R&D teams
? Designing and implementing in vitro biology experiments to transform crops for Syngenta’s effort to improve crops via genomic editing
? Providing technical expertise on transformation technology for improvements of major crops
? Interacting with scientists within SBC and other Syngenta business units to ensure critical project milestones met
? Maintaining accurate experimental records and performing all activities in compliance with Syngenta quality management and HSE guidelines
Knowledge, experience & capabilities

Critical knowledge
? Specific knowledge on plant transformation methods
? Broad knowledge on plant biotechnology, molecular biology and genetics
? General knowledge in crop improvements via genomic editng as a plus, but not required;
Critical experience
? Fresh PhD or MS with multiple year experience in plant transformation or plant biotechnology
? Direct experience in experimental design and execution to transform crops
? Experience in crop transformation method development and validation preferred
Critical technical, professional and personal capabilities
? Good experimental planning, execution and reporting skills
? Excellent skills with in vitro biology and genetics
? Proficient in plant or crop transformations
? Highly motivated, result oriented, and a good team player
? Proficient in English and strong communication skills
