Amazon Kindle is a revolutionary device and one of the most innovative and fastest growing businesses at Amazon. This position provides an exciting opportunity to help support Amazon device business into offline retailer channel for China. This position will be based in Beijing, China.
- You will work cross functionally across Amazon internal teams (Account Management, Regions Sales & Operations, Instock / Forward Logistics / Accounting etc.), External Fulfillment Providers and Retailers to ensure timely and quality of fulfillment to our retailers in order to ensure sufficient in-stock levels, and meet retailer on-time performance demands.
- You will own the end to end supply-chain flow for each of the major retailers, from point of origin to delivery. You must demonstrate a strong, metrics driven approach to track all issues, actions and resulting improvements and strong facilitation skills are required to drive the learnings from vendor interactions into engineering teams to systematically remove road-blocks.
- You will manage the collaborative planning and forecasting processes for named retailers. Run weekly/monthly collaboration process with retailers and manage availability in customers’ warehouses/stores.
- You will actively participate to the account team work by providing facts and insights of channel inventories and availability, as well as demand and supply planning highlights from the retailer’s side.
- You will be responsible for daily execution of order management and demand fulfillment activities for named collaborative retailers. Ensure that planning systems and databases are updated according to the processes.
Job Responsibilities
- Manage day-to-day supply chain operations for digital device In-direct retail channel in China.
- Manage collaborative planning and forecasting process for China retailer.
- Ensure seamless order management and reseller level inventory allocation process for maximizing retailer in-store availability.
- Work with operations to ensure predictable, accurate, and consistent delivery of product to the customer while maintaining ship caps.
- Be a focal point for exception handling and escalation, and work with various stakeholders to arrive at the best possible resolution on issues for both short term and long term
- Work to continuously drive operating costs down
- Engage with other teams to form technical and functional documentation for processes
- Collect product and software requirements
- Collect data on existing processes, analyze it with statistical software to discover areas of defects or inefficiencies, and define project opportunities for improvements in the process area
- Build solid relationships with peers across the organization and ensure smooth process flow and collaboration
- Ensure seamless order fulfillment and customer experience for customers using subject matter expertise in fulfillment, inbound and outbound logistics, and overall supply chain systems
- Ability to undertake contract negotiations with third party service providers under the guidelines of CN/US senior leadership
- Define and manage execution of projects to optimize supply chain and operations processes - from inception through delivery - leveraging functional knowledge of supply chain architectures
- Utilize Six Sigma and Lean practices to optimize supply chain and operations processes.
- Travel 10% of the time.
Basic Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree required or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Minimum eight (8) years relevant work experience in a sales operations management or supply chain roles in a large multinational consumer electronics environment
- High-level leadership and decision-making skills
- Ability to motivate, influence and train
- Good verbal, interpersonal and written communication skills - both in Mandarin and English
- Knowledgeable in retail / account management / sales & operation / instock / logistics / warehousing / 3PL management
- Good negotiation skills
- Strong leadership, problem solving and decision-making skills
- Program management in supply chain and operations
- Proven track record implementing quality programs with spirit of continuous improvement.
Preferred Qualifications
- An MBA / Master degree is preferred
- Experience in warehouse operations and Logistics
- Experience negotiating 3rd party logistics contracts
- History of effectively managing external customers and successfully working with internal teams to build new capability and implement projects.
- Experience using Six Sigma or Lean practices to optimize supply chain or operations processes
- Independence and flexibility
- Accomplished range of skill from high-level strategic thinking to creative and detailed team leadership
- Superior verbal and written communications skills
- Analytical approach to problem solving and a track record of driving results through continuous improvement
