Global Service Delivery
Within HSBC Operations, Services and Technology, Global Service Delivery is a leader in the development of services and processes that are designed around the customer and enable the firm to demonstrate to regulators that its processes and ways of working will deliver consistently high standards of compliance. Every day, customers all over the world are paying bills, buying homes and setting up companies and every day, Global Service Delivery teams are making sure all this happens smoothly.
Role Purpose
We are currently seeking an ambitious individual to join this team working together with colleagues to define, manage and achieve divisional business targets. In this role, you will:
-Assist in maintaining a robust risk management governance structure within HSS OSC.
-Provide regular management reports to HSS OSC management and business partners for reviewing / assessing risk exposure performance, service delivery standards and adherence to the performance level agreement for the services offshored from HSBC HSS entities.
-Ensure the BRCM team in HSS OSC are adequately qualified and fully understand and be able to undertake their roles
-Identify and review operational risks and controls within HSS OSC as part of risk assessment process including and not limited to risk and control assessment, internal control review, periodic thematic review, etc.
-Assist management to develop remediation action plan, review the plan and remediation progress for adequacy, effectiveness and timeliness until the risk issues are Impact on the Business/Function
-Assist in maintaining a robust risk management governance structure within HSS OSC.
-Provide regular management reports to HSS OSC management and business partners for reviewing / assessing risk exposure performance, service delivery standards and adherence to the performance level agreement for the services offshored from HSBC HSS entities.
-Ensure the BRCM team in HSS OSC are adequately qualified and fully understand and be able to undertake their roles
-Identify and review operational risks and controls within HSS OSC as part of risk assessment process including and not limited to risk and control assessment, internal control review, periodic thematic review, etc.
-Assist management to develop remediation action plan, review the plan and remediation progress for adequacy, effectiveness and timeliness until the risk issues are resolved, escalated to Management on any exceptions noted.
-Establish and implement quality assurance, education and awareness programmes to ensure that all staff are fully aware of the importance and consequences of operational risks.
-Drive comprehensive analyses and balanced judgment in the fulfilment of audit requirements, coordinate various internal and external control audits, regulatory and ISAE3402 reviews and ensure the timely implementation of audit recommendations
-Devise and undertake ad-hoc projects for risk assessment and mitigation
-Manage staff within the site BRCM function and drive development including awareness and implementation of procedures and policy impacting BRCM.
-Monitoring and timely reporting to HSS OSC Management of risk issues resulted from risk, compliance, business partners, internal and external audit reviews to ensure timely closure.
-Undertake and facilitate reviews for BIRO related areas
-Implement regular Business Partner meetings to discuss progress of BRCM initiatives and share best practice.
-Be able to represent Head of BRCM OSCs when delegated to do so.
-Work closely with local business units to ensure that audit points are properly implemented
-Provide Operational Risk advice to local business units on FIM interpretations and internal control matters
-Work closely with other parts of HSS OSC and local risk functions to exchange information, understand international trends, forge standards of best practice and help implement all HSS policies and standards
-Liaise with business partners for operational risk related matters
-Lead and develop the BRCM team to align with Group strategy and target operating model
-Build the competency of the team to become trusted advisor to the business
-Maintain and develop positive and professional working relationships with all team members within BRCM across the HSS OSCs.
-Provide training, guidance and support to the team members and the business units on operational risk related matters
-Co-ordinate and manage the approach to operational risks in line with the Global HSS approach
-Lead through example and exhibit the correct behaviours to ensure HSS principles and Group values are at the required standards within BRCM
-Implement operational risk management policies and controls in relevant business areas
-Assist the business to remain compliant with operational risk management requirements set out in the Group Standards Manual, HSS FIM and Operation FIM.
Qualifications
-Degree holder preferably with at least 5 years’ operational risk management, internal control or audit experience in fund administration industry
-Strong understanding of operation risk management, audit, controls and compliance and ability to comprehend and minimize operational risks
-Ability to manage senior stakeholders across regions and cultures. Able to work in a matrix organization.
-Strong people management skills with at least 3 years’ experience in managing people and leading teams
-Solid organisation, problem solving and time management skills with the ability to work under pressure and set right priorities to deliver results on time
-Strong supervisory, influencing and interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate and negotiate with both external and internal customers at all levels
-Pro-active, service-oriented and responsive to duties, with a good control of emotion
-Excellent command of both spoken and written English
