The Microsoft Accelerator deal flow manager is charged with identifying and
selecting relevant, high-quality startups for the Accelerator by developing
intimate relationship within the startup ecosystem and investor community.
He or she owns the selection process for the Accelerator. The role may be
combined with managing partnerships and\or managing the local alumni
program.
Key Characteristics of a Deal Flow Manager/Marketing
1. Rich network in the local and regional startup ecosystem, with emphasis on the investor community;
2. Ability to create and manage relationships with multiple stakeholders;
3. Strong analytical skills, ability to evaluate startups on the business and technical level, and provide first line of screening;
4. Organized and result oriented;
5. Team player;
6. Strong marketing skills—able to produce small events and create a marketing plan;
7. Produce PR and success stories for portfolio companies;
8. Help current cohort to raise money from VCs;
9. Manage Alumni Network Relationship;
10. Familiar with technologies and startups in Enterprise Services, Cloud computing, IOT, Big Data and Artificial Intelligence;
11. Ideally previous work experience as an investment manager or investor relationship manager in a tier 1 VC firms or financial advisory firms.
