The Senior mechanical PM will be a part of a fast paced and exciting organization within HP's Notebooks organization. The engineer will provide technical support for driving timely and accurate issue resolution for factory issues. The engineer is expected to leverage experience and knowledge in various manufacturing disciplines as well as reliability knowledge to solve issues. The engineer needs to work with engineers in CQ, Shanghai, Taipei, and US to develop and execute experiments, find root cause, define corrective action and prevention.

The mechanical engineer will also be responsible for supporting platform NPI activities. This involves performing teardowns for DFM assessments. The engineer needs to work closely with the NPI PMs to ensure the products are ready for mass production. The activities in this phase will involve tooling readiness, manufacturing process evaluation, mechanical reliability assessments.

Finally, the engineer needs to actively manage the ODM's change management process to ensure the product continues to have consistent quality. This will involve reviewing BOMs and mechanical parts to ensure the parts have not been changed.

Qualifications

BA / BS degree in Mechanical Engineering plus 6+ years of mechanical design or manufacturing experience

-Strong technical background in mechanical and reliability tools - including ProE.

-Requires extensive procurement background, which is built on a foundation of manufacturing procurement and supply chain management.

-Great leadership skills and able to achieve results with internal and external team members

-Excellent communication, organizational skills

-Self motivated and proactive with demonstrated creative and critical thinking capabilities

-Understands and deals well with rapid development cycles; remains flexible and calm in the face of uncertainty

-Teamwork: the candidate must be able to fit in well with a team, understand capabilities and priorities while fostering a collaborative environment
