Role (Purpose of the job)

You will be a part of the global Network Operations team which operates LAN, handles the daily operation and resolution of incidents. The purpose of Infrastructure Production is to ensure a secure, stable and efficient operation environment, built on products and instructions from Infrastructure Management.

As a Datacentre engineer you will be responsible for the daily management of the facility, on call Hands and Feet support, maintenance, installation & test, verify quality and functionality of infrastructure components.

The job also means that you should be able to be reached on call after office hours for handling urgent incidents.

Key Responsibility

·Assist with installation, testing, documentation and maintenance of servers & network devices

·Handles most of the management tasks of the hardware in its life cycle

·Monitors that the components meet the given technical requirements

·Responsible for the evaluation of facility components within the datacenter

Authority

·Proposes changes that makes the components more efficient and reduces operation or maintenance cost

·Participates in maintenance and operation activities within the datacenter and other locations operated by VIT

·Participates in planning and calculation of datacenter physical requirements

Main competence requirements

·At least 3 years hands-on experience in the Network & Telecoms area (LAN)

·Candidate with Cisco IP telephony experience is preferred

·Good English skills in Reading and Writing

·Good IT knowledge especially in Cisco / HP devices/ NetAPP

·Good knowledge in using Microsoft productivity tools especially Office and SharePoint.
