SUMMARY:

We are looking for a qualified Junior Underwriter with 3-5 working experience in PC business with UW/BD/Claim/Technical Management background. Legal background will be welcome as well.

KEY TASKS & ACCOUNTABILITIES

1. Provide assistance, consultation and advice on underwriting matters to the Senior Underwriter and/or Underwriting managers.
2. Assist Line manager to monitor wordings, product guidelines, comparisons, marketing materials and underwriting aids.
3. Coordinate activities with higher level underwriting staff and with support staff to assure valid and timely response to producers of quotations and production of policies, endorsements, certificates, renewal notices, and other administrative requirements.
4. Communicate and liaise internally and externally in a professional and effective manner.
5. Pro-actively work in tandem with marketing staff and underwriters in other departments.
6. Develop and maintain agency and broker relationship.
7. Interface with key external clients to ensure service standard.
8. Assist Line manager to maintain compliance with all legal, statutory and other regulatory requirements.
9. Other ad-hoc assignment by Line managers.

QUALIFICATIONS/EXPERIENCE
1. 3-5 years of experience in the underwriting or market facing area in insurance sector. Group PA underwriter background is preferred
2. Possess a high level of customer service by meeting or exceeding broker and or customer expectations with respect to required deadlines
3. Good marketing sense and strong initiative
4. Relationship management and marketing promotions.
