Primary Objective

? Provides expertise, training and consultation to SC/LSO and System Specialists on installation, service and maintenance of the specified product/component
? Provide expertise, training and consultation to SC/LSO on the usage of the specified product/component
? Develop and maintain Memo instructions of the specified product/component
? Supports Assortment Manager in or do (if delegated from Assortment Manager) active assortment management

Key Responsibilities

? Cooperate and communicate with Assortment managers and System specialists across the various systems to ensure optimum performance of the specified product/component

? Quality (If delegated from Assortment Manager)

o Resolve quality issues and messaging and make recommendations to the Assortment Manager on "quality stop decisions"
o Decide on warranty claims and reimbursement. Set returns policy
o Continuously monitor quality status of the assortment
o Respond and handle quality messages (including route cause of failure)


? Support

o Support systems specialists with product knowledge for installation Memo
o Develop Q & A and other material to enable troubleshooting and resolving of queries from the field
o Develop appropriate practical training on the application (usage), service and maintenance of the allocated components
o Provide support on technical queries for specified products / components
o When required attend farm visits to assist in resolving queries or troubleshooting issues on farm
o Support LSO sales process with remote technical support and on site technical support for allocated components
o Support configuration of one-off special new product builds
o Support Business Development Manager in capturing customer needs and possible improvements and provide input to product strategy

o Support start up/ pilot installations and complete performance checklists to identify when products are not working as specified

o Create memo material, product and service news
o Act as shared services point of contact, provide information required to enable product installation and service documentation to be completed by shared services
o Inform markets of changes to assortment through product and service news
o Develop and deliver together with system specialists guidelines and training for installers and implement the global training calendar




? Assortment Lifecyle Management (If delegated from Assortment Manager)

o Conduct assortment reviews, analyse and propose transfer of local assortment into global assortment with the goal of a single global assortment
o Support development of service concepts
o Analyse and suggest transfer of acquired assortment to fit into DeLaval assortment
o Analyse assortment and propose merging of products, redesign to reduce COGS, improve quality or meet regulations
o Continuously analyse and propose phase out, clean up and slow mover actions (decide on phase out if no commercial impact) and implement phase out plans

o In conjunction with the Supply Chain make recommendations on opportunities for cost reductions (COGS) or cost repositioning
o Act as Supply Chain point of contact and inform of phase in, phase out, slow mover and marketing actions
o Actively work with members of the Supply Chain department to ensure acceptable availability and delivery including backlog management
o Collect ramp up forecast for new product introductions and forecast for key products and inform Supply Chain
o Define and prioritise together with BDM critical items in the Supply Chain
o Provide parameters to supply chain to enable them to source new or replacement products, set stocking and logistics parameters and availability requirements

o Actively work to be aware of regulatory requirements for the specific product/component and where necessary communicate needs to Assortment manager or D&E


? Frequent dialogue with D&E/Assortment management regarding performance and potential improvements
? Initiate CQT changes and secure CQT beta testing (if logic owner)

? Attend selected farm audits where the specified product/component is being reviewed

? Good communication skills and ability to design and deliver training
? Technical and product knowledge
? DeLaval (IS) systems knowledge
? Cross functional team worker
? Practical on farm experience - 'walk in farmers shoes'



Accountability

? Overall performance of the product/component within the system or stand a lone installation.
? Expenses within agreed budget


Limits of Authority

? All capital expenditure to be approved by System Director
? All personal expenditure as per budget
? Travel approval as per DeLaval policy manual
