Technical Program Manager (Global Operations – Data Science)

1. Mission:
? Project owner and Solution Architect for Data Science
? Work across team and regional boundaries to drive delivery of complex analytical projects.
? Develop the Project milestones, monitor risk and manage project success.

2. Responsibilities
You will own the planning, execution, and delivery of multiple analytical and science projects for the Global Operations organization within Coupang. You will identify problem areas that can be best solved by advanced analytical techniques and influence teams across the company to execute on the solution. You have expertise in applying operations research, statistics and other analytical techniques to solve business problems. You continue to invest in learning the systems involved with your projects in depth while keeping the “big picture” in mind for the benefit of customers and stakeholders.

? Prioritize projects to ensure effective use of Data Science resources

Solution Architecture
? Identify problems and inefficiency in Global Operations that can be solved by Data Science and advanced analytical techniques
? Own the solution framework through discussions with engineering, business, and Data Science teams
? Lead all ad-hoc analyses and ensure that the direction and output of analyses are aligned business needs

Provides Visibility
? Communicates project status to all stakeholders quickly and efficiently
? Communicates closely with the Data Science team in China to ensure tight alignment in a fast changing environment
? Provides the right documentation at the right level of visibility for the given audience

4. Requirements
? Bachelor’s degree in Industrial Engineering, Statistics, Operations Research, or a related field. MS/PhD preferred.
? 5 years of experience in project management, solutions architecture or professional services.
? Minimum 3 years of hands-on experience applying operations research or data science techniques to solve practical problems
