Job Description
IBM is investing $3B in Watson Internet of Things (WIoT) over the next four years to build on current market leading position. By connecting the digital and physical worlds, the Internet of Things (IoT) is creating new opportunities in every industry, and improving our everyday lives. WIoT accelerates business transformation and enhances human experience by offering the most comprehensive IoT portfolio. These include key solution areas in Internet of Things Foundation Platform, Asset Management, Facilities Management, System/Embedded Software Engineering and Predictive Maintenance and Quality. Watson APIs are designed specifically to accelerate the development of Cognitive IoT solutions and services on the WIoT, include Natural Language Processing, Machine Learning, Video/Image/Audio Analytics, Text Analytics.
The IBM WIoT Lab Services team is the bridge between the client and IBM Watson Internet of Things. Our mission is to accelerate the value of client’s investment by delivering enhanced technical service offerings and customized solutions. The job offers an opportunity to apply advanced analytics/optimization/simulation technology in industries including retail, consumer products, manufacturing and banking, aiming to deliver advanced system/product/service for customer problems.
Detailed responsibilities include:
* Chinese Natural Language Processing/Understanding and Dialogue Management,
* Product Recommendation,
* Image and Video Analysis,
* Knowledge Representation and Reasoning,
* Machine Learning,
* User Interaction and Visualization
Required Professional and Technical Expertise
* Ph.D/Master in Linguistics, Information Science, Computer Science, Electronics Engineering, Applied Mathematics, or a related area;
* Outstanding researcher with a proven track-record on both conceptual and empirical aspects in the areas of NLP and HCI, as well as Knowledge Representation and Reasoning.
* Strong analytical skill, familiar with big data platforms and tools, and good software development experience and programming skills.
* Knowledge in GIS system / satellite aided navigation system is a plus
* Extensive relevant research experience in supply chain optimization, online recommendation system, and customer analytics is a plus.
* creativity, dexterity, and technical depth to solve real-world problems.
* Self-motivation, team-work and good Chinese/English communication skill.
