The position requires excellent technical knowledge/differentiation in an engineering discipline coupled with superior people leadership skills and business planning processes. The incumbent must demonstrate excellent leadership skills to drive low product cost, efficient operations, innovation, and collaboration with both internal and external stakeholders.


Essential Responsibilities

• Drive innovation, growth, and research and development initiatives. • Team with the business leader to drive clinically relevant NPI's, business / technical strategy, operating mechanisms and NPI execution. • Leverage Innovation to drive growth, performance and productivity. • Drive a culture that ensures outstanding compliance and adherence to product quality in all areas for the Quality Management System in GEHC. • Ensure that the organizational design, functional expertise, engineering process experience of the technology team is positioned for excellence. • Formulate the strategy for continuous improvement of systems, products and processes. • Ensure local managers are leading engineering teams through the product development lifecycle with superior quality and compliance. • Use Lean principles and Six Sigma DFSS methodologies to increase design efficiency and direct proactive cost management on NPIs. • Drive budget control, engineering organizational design, technology differentiation, functional excellence and teamwork. • Engage in cross-functional activities, including recruitment, retention, talent acquisition and development, and mentoring • Collaborate with peers across functions (e.g. QA/RA, Supply Chain, Service, Marketing, Sales, IT) to drive a high performance team environment. • Attend customer visits and clinical training sessions. • Build strong partnership with government & regulatory bodies to assist, as needed, in forming policies to capture consumer and industry interest. • Foster Technical Career Path to develop and provide growth opportunities to technology talent.

Qualifications/Requirements

1. Bachelors degree in Engineering/Science within an appropriate discipline 2. 15+ years progressive experience as an engineer or scientist within the appropriate field of study 3. 10 years experience in project leadership within a manufacturing, development or research environment 4. Proven track record to drive & influence global teams to deliver on business and program goals 5. Domain expertise coupled with strong business acumen. 6. Balance strong process discipline with experience, knowledge and intuition to operate at the appropriate level within the organization. Truly add technical and clinical value. 7. Demonstrate leadership beyond ownership. 8. Demonstrated ability to make independent decisions and manage conflicting priorities in a fast-paced environment.... must be responsive and willing to take ownership of issues and drive solutions. 9. Proven communication, coaching and interpersonal skills, at all levels of the organization.... able to energize and inspire. 10. Team player able to work closely with a global team and open to sharing information and best practices with the team.


Desired Characteristics

1. Advanced degree in Engineering or Science 2. Business Planning: Strategic planner and thinker with ability to drive change across the site. Demonstrated competency in providing leadership and direction in regards to cross-functional aspects of technology development 3. Technology MGPD: Excellent multi-generation segment technology planning and rationalization experience with an excellent understanding of product system architecture(s), platforms and core functional technologies 4. Functional Experience: Excellent program management, organizational design, execution planning and control competency 5. Product, Clinical, Technology & Scientific Knowledge: Excellent knowledge of patient/customer and segment related clinical applications and workflow as well as scientific/engineering methods/theory with an affinity for technology and clinical solutions within a functional domain 6. Product Life Cycle: Demonstrated experience on global product releases throughout the entire new product development cycle, managing Field Maintenance Instructions (FMIs) and Installed Base releases 7. Strong business acumen as well as customer focused influencing skills 8. Demonstrated GE leadership values 9. Understanding of regulated Healthcare industry 10. Previous experience in regulated medical device company 11. Six sigma/ 5S/ Lean trained
