Job Title: Senior Build & Release Engineer
Our team is growing, and we are hiring a Software Build & Release Engineer. In this hands-on role you will design and develop software release engineering tools. You will administer software builds and releases and manage source control repository. Our software targets streaming platform, web applications and client side applications(Android, iOS and embeded Linux)
Responsibilities:
- Manage the daily build process, ensuring timely execution and resolving issues with team.
- Develop build automation tools and processes.
- Ensures proper archiving of software application releases
- Integrate quality tools such as code coverage, unit test into the build process.
- Assesses risks and impacts to changes throughout the software development lifecycle
- Develop production-quality configuration tools and installers.
- Maintain the source control environment. We use SVN and GIT for source control.
- Administer the hardware and software systems required to support the builds.
- Document instructions and processes related to build process, systems, and development environment.
- Evaluate and deploy tools of potential interest to the team.
- Keep current with emerging technologies and recognize the potential value they bring to us.
Desired Characteristics:
- Detail-oriented, organized and focused, with ability to prioritize workload.
- Strong work ethic and highly communicative.
- Committed to software quality and passionate about delivering a great product.
Experience and Education:
- 5+ years of release engineering experience.
- Experience with source control systems with a thorough understanding of source branch and merge techniques.
- Excellent scripting skills related to build and release processes and tools.
- Mobile devices(iOS/AppStore, Android/Google Play) build and release process experience.
- Working knowledge of Java web technologies.
- BS in Computer Science or equivalent
The following skills are highly desirable:
- Experience integrating test validation and code analysis tools into the build process.
- Experience working with SCRUM or other Agile teams.
- Amazon AWS server setup and maintenance
- Systems administration experience
