What are my responsibilities?
- Manage (Sub)Commodities and cross-sectoral (for specific material field) or sectoral and foster cross-functional alignment within area of responsibility to ensure best in class organization
- Coordinate and manage a virtual/ disciplinary team to achieve optimum conditions and savings through collaborative, targeted activities and to increase EVA from global and cross-sectoral or sectoral sourcing
- Define (Sub)Commodity structure and organization in alignment with respective Manager; develop and implement material productivity programs/ measures to achieve the maximum contribution to the targets
- Define and implement (Sub)Commodity and Pooling strategies (based on conducted demand, market and supplier analyses) within area of responsibility; evaluate and document material field strategy and update regularly; communicate the strategy
- Define and implement negotiation concepts and strategies; negotiate frame contracts; define core assortment; document frame contracts in relevant Supplier Management IT-systems to get highest feasible savings
- Generate, document and implement savings, e.g. CNI; plan, monitor and report on relevant KPI (e.g. CNI, eAuctions, SBO, FPL, GVS) and ensure the target achievement within the respective material field to contribute to the success of the business and make results transparent
- Supplier selection, incl. documentation and communication of FPL suppliers, regular supplier and strategic evaluations, supplier classifications and supplier development to obtain and develop the best suppliers and to ensure an optimum supply chain
- Ensure PVO transparency globally by, amongst others, correct ESN coding to ensure a correct reporting
- Identify particular procurement risks, opportunities and market forces to avoid potential damage/ exploit potential opportunities through tailored risk management and change management
- Foster usage of eProcurement tools (eRfX, eAuction/ eBidding); ensure that contract structures are transferable in eCatalogues (applicable esp. for Indirect Material) to improve the Procurement process and efficiency
- Organize and support global sourcing projects to increase the PVO in GVS countries
- Maintain regular contact with relevant interfaces to gather information, fully inform network partners and ensure information exchange with relevant interfaces
What do I need to qualify for this job?
- Bachelor degree on IT or business area;
- Minimum 5 years procurement working experience with at least 2 years in indirect material.
- Strong interpersonal skills and communication skills in both English & Mandarin Chinese
- Ability and experience to effectively manage by influence.
- Outstanding team player and facilitator, working with and influencing strongly a diverse range of internal customers, and external providers.
- Demonstrates problem solving, team building and facilitation skills in a multi-cultural environment.
What else do I need to know?
- The aim of Supply Chain Management is to optimize the value added chain at Siemens in a coordinated manner on the basis of standardized processes. Apart from contributing value to operating results through savings in procurement, this also includes quality assurance as well as guaranteeing delivery reliability and dependable, efficient logistics. The aim here is to establish good cooperation relationships that deliver lasting value to both parties. The selection process plays a vital role in this. - By continually improving the company’s supply chain, Supply Chain Management ensures that Siemens fulfills the expectations of its customers regarding the quality, availability and pricing of its products and services.
- The SCM organization optimizes quality, logistics and production processes as well as procurement by bundling the company’s negotiating power, providing uniform standards, and concentrating the supplier basis.
- Consequently, the four basic questions for Supply Chain Management are: How can the quality of a product be improved? How can the availability of a product be increased through faster development and production? How can the manufacturing costs of a product be reduced? How can an optimized supply chain create greater value for Siemens?
