Function Description:
Mission of function:
- The Technical Sales Manager is responsible for the sales management work of the Minerals business for Industry Sector/Drive Technology Divsion/LD VSS Minerals in Mongolia. He has to represent Siemens in Minerals sales/marketing activities, inclduing mining, cement and power solution and focus on mining.
Dimensions of Function:
- The Technical Sales Manager does business in Mongolia. Size of business KPIs (e.g. order Intake, profitability, opportunity pipeline, account penetration and customer relationship management) are defined RC specific.
Contacts:
- External:End Users, EPCs, Consultants, OEMs, SIs (System Integrator), Investors;
- Internal: VSS Minerals Head China, and section managers of Mining, Cement and Power Solution, technical sales and quotation team, and Mongolia Regional Office in UB.
Area of Responsibility/Task
- Responsibility for the Technical Sales Manager: Sales and Marketing for Minerals
- Analyzes minerals market, business targets & strategy, issues, needs, processes, value chain and key business drivers of Mongolia and effectively transfers this knowledge to the VSS Minerals China.
- Represents customer needs to VSS and ensures a close approach to customer and partners.
- Sales Management and Development of Minerals business, including network with customers and partners, project follow up, quotation and contract support
Represent Minerals Portfolio in Mongolia
- To promote Siemens portfolio to potential customer and partners
- To find and development defined portfolio from local requirement
Identify and track business opportunity in Mongolia for Minerals business
- To identify and follow potential projects and customer/partners, and find opportunity for Siemens business.
- To represent Minerals at the focus account (FA) customers for continous development if any.
Engineering Supporting, Proposal and Quotation
- Plans and executes pre-sales work, including engineering support and proposal to customer and partners, with support from VSS China.
- Plans and executes bids, prepareing biding document according to Siemens DT and customer requirement.
Siemens Internal Coordination
- As sales manager, to coordinate Siemens internally, for business opportunity and projects follow up. Incluidng coordination with RO UB, VSS Minerals China.
Cpmpetence Requirement
- Methodologies: Has knowledge of sales management e.g. regarding planning, execution, contracts, after sales follow up
- Profess. Knowl.: Knows/understands the core processes of the customer and the relevant minerals industry; knows the value chain of customer, understands the business strategy and implications to be able to identify additional business potential for Siemens
- Technologies: Has knowledge of Consultative Selling Techniques as a structured process for selling value at the decision maker level to achieve competitive advantage
- Profess. Knowl.: Has knowledge of offering and contract methods and tools such as pricing, terms & conditions, controlling
- Profess. Knowl.: Has basic understanding about electrical or mechanical engineering and automation processes
- Profess. Knowl.: Spoken and written fluency in the mother tongue Mongolian;
additional advanced knowledge in English
- Technologies: Applies professional communication and presentation skill
- Technologies: Knows and applies efficient Negotiation Skills
Essential (today and in future)
- Professional(Variety of Business): Basic understanding of electrical, mechanical engineering & automation
- Project / Process(Variety of Function Areas): 3 years sales or project management experience in various industries, preferably mining, heavy and process industries.
- Leadership(Variety of Function Types): Able to manage and motivate people successfully.
- Intercultural(Variety of Cultures): Able to work effectively with individuals from multiple cultures and backgrounds.
Diitional Requirement:
Education
- University degree in Electrical & Automation engineering. or other minerals relevant discipline. Other suitable education possible.
