* Indirect Procurement position
Determines and develops approaches to assignments
* Responsible for indirect procurement projects and category results, requiring coordination with other functions, third parties
* Solves a broad range of procurement-related problems of varying scope and complexity
* Develops pre-negotiation contract strategies and proposals
* Mostly local, some regional contracts usually under $1M
* Works closely with business function to create and structure proposals/contracts consistent with business objectives
* Focus is typically on specific individual contracts
* Use e-sourcing technologies to develop RFIs, RFPs, reverse auctions, and compose service contracts and supply agreements as required
* Establishes and maintains supplier relationships with basic/core suppliers
* Participate in supplier business reviews

* Maintain an optimum supplier base through the use of risk management
* Select, maintain, and manage a supplier base that is financially sound, technically competent, and strategically aligned

* Conducts research for market intelligence, competitive position, benchmarking
* Utilize formal benchmarking process to determine best-in-class processes and drive areas for CSM improvement
* Develop and implement cost-reduction programs through the use of Cost-of-Ownership (COO) analysis, cost build-up analysis and supplier competition

* Measure and track performance within defined spend category and provide appropriate visibility.
* Will typically focus on a set of customers/contracts
* In depth Geographic/ business specific expertise for defined areas
* Understands contract/tax law concepts and can apply them in developing contracts without support
* Demonstrated ability to work across cultures and geographies
* Utilize expertise in dealing with non-routine contract structures
* Represent Global Sourcing in the business or function bringing an articulate independent thought process to the table

* Indirect procurement experiences in MNC, in logistic and workplace services, IT function is critical.

Understanding of IP and concepts of risk mgmt
* Proven project mgmt skills
* Good influencing, persuasion, presentation, conflict resolution skills
* Solid skills and experience in negotiations. Ability to independently negotiate medium size/risk contracts for Agilent without supervision
* Solid understanding of financial practices at Agilent


Bachelors or Master Degree or University Degree or equivalent plus a minimum of 8 years relevant experience, with typically 5 to 7 years practical experience.
