职位描述

BASIC FUNCTION

Specific Job Focus: Manages the execution of procurement projects on behalf of the Mark David Operations, leading SQE in China and Account manager in Philippines, collaborste with US Team. Based out of China office but with significant travel in China and other Asian destinations required.

General Objective: Seek new suppliers to Mark David, assessment of capabilities, negotiation of contractual and commercial terms, development of capabilities, project management, supply-chain management, lead technique discussions, Constantly working with customer service and designers to execute hospitality furniture projects from product development to mass production and ourbound.

SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES

Functional Skills:

1) Leading a project team including account manger, customer service and SQE, managing specific sourcing/manufacturing initiatives including:

a. Generation of project plan and agree content with both customers and suppliers.
b. Ensure project progress is in line with requirements of plan.
c. Contribution of appropriate personal expertise to facilitate the delivery of projects.
d. Introduction of specific expertise where required (either from Kohler Mark David or third party).
e. Maintain an appropriate level of communication to Sales and Customer Service teams with respect to product design, alternative proposal and project progress.

2) Leading engineering related discussion among teams - US customer service, Cebu Engineering and suppliers, set approperiate standard and direction so final drawing and specs will not only meet customer expectation but also operatable within project budget.

3) Input to and support the research and analysis of proposed out-sourcing and in-sourcing initiatives.

4) Develop regional supply-base expertise - maintain a broad view and strong understanding of regional supply opportunities and specialisms, ensuring the business benefits from lowest total acquisition costs at acceptable and manageable levels of risk.


5) Identify and recommend potential suppliers - lead team to qualify against Kohler requirements.

6) Facilitate transfer of definitive purchasing specification from customers to supplier.

7) Conduct supplier price and contractual negotiations to ensure meeting goals of business unit.

8) Conduct initial technical/quality sample developments.

9) Conduct initial product approval in preparation for final sign-off by designers/customers

10) Supplier development - utilizing best practice tools and techniques including assessment, improvement and measurement processes.

11) Participate in and where necessary drive cost-down and supply process improvement initiatives on a multi functional basis. Work closely with Quality Assurance colleagues in particular to ensure effective quality management as a high priority and quality compliance is achieved and maintained.

12) Assist in resolving supply chain issues, proactively recommending and driving improvement activity to avoid recurrence.

13) Ensure a consistent & high level of communication of own supply chain activities is fed into the business such as to establish support, maintain awareness of intent and support of activities.

14) Responsible for delivery of goal objective performance specific to own projects.

Supervisory Relationships:
Reports to Manager Procurement, Mark David Asia Operations
Organization Relationships:
(1) Work closely with Sales, CS and account managers


EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS

1) Bachelor's degree in a relevant engineering discipline (e.g. furniture, wood processing, manufacturing and design etc).

2) Possess a balance of both commercial (business) skills and technical expertise, ideally from a purchasing background with experience of working in design firm or high end furniture making supply base

3) Fluent in English and Mandarin languages (written and spoken).

4) Strong communication skills - effective at all levels of both supplier and within organizations.

5) Posses proven and effective project management skills, including associated tools and techniques.

6) > 8 years experience in either of following category

o Furniture (upholstered or case goods) - design, manufacturing
o Procurement section of furniture industry

7) Good working knowledge of quality assurance standards, tools and statistical techniques.

8) Sound understanding of international logistics.

9) Sound understanding of business finance subjects and processes.
