BASIC FUNCTION
? Responsible for all supplier related activities for those outsourced parts.
? Acts as the single window for supplier conversions.
? Reviews project proposals to support management with estimates of the cost, schedule, and activity requirements.
? Assists in developing project scope to include - time lines, resource requirements, reporting, and post mortem evaluation.
? Drives process improvements for purchasing activities.
SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES
? Leads the activities, including supplier identification, supplier audit, supplier selection etc. to maximize the supplier value in the supply chain.
? Responsible for supplier capability/capacity development planning in line with project schedule.
? Interfaces with R&D, Production, Engineering, Materials planning, Manufacturing sites, Sales and Marketing to ensure project scope and shareholder expectations are in alignment.
? Leads NPD sourcing projects including supplier early involvement, supplier cost/capability/capacity improvement program, etc.
? Develops specific performance measurements required to monitor short and long-term goals with detailed gap analysis and corrective action plans on a regular basis
? Builds and drives teamwork across functional teams.
? Proactively communicates cost/schedule changes to project leaders or other internal customers and building trust in interactions.
? Promotes with self-development through the use of all available resources (i.e. training programs, seminars, sharing of best practices, and self-study).
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS
? Bachelor degree in engineering, Supply Chain Management, Operations, Business with 6-8 years professional experience. Engineering degree preferred,
? ability to interact with suppliers and cross functional teams;
? 3+ years experience in global purchasing preferred;
? Excellent understanding of commodity product technology, especially brass plastics and zinc;
? Strong purchasing skills and project management with organizational skills;
? Good written and verbal skills in English;
? Basic understanding of quality systems and ISO 9000.
