Development Engineer (m/f) /Application Engineer (m/f) - Power Electronics

Tasks:

The series development of electric vehicles compared to conventional combustion engine vehicles leads to a variety of new requirements. Because of the special features and components of an electric vehicle, such a development is a challenge for all involved parties. As part of your areas of responsibility, you have the opportunity to participate in such a development.

• Design and development of power electronics (inverter, DC/DC-converter, etc.)
• Specification and requirements analysis, generation of technical specifications
• Development competence in the fields of thermal characterization, efficiency, functional safety, durability and robustness
• Test (performance / load changes / features)
• Fault analysis and assessment of technical solutions
• Integration and testing in electric vehicles
• Support in the supplier selection and consultation with involved departments, suppliers and customers

* We are looking for employees (m/f) for our subsidiary in Shanghai as well as for other locations in China. We offer the possibility of prior training in the subject area in one of our German facilities.

Requirements:

• University degree in electrical engineering, automotive-mechatronics or similar subject areas
• Work experience in (vehicle) electronics development, specifically in the power train electronics and power components is of advantage
• Skilled in using CAN and application tools (CANalyzer, DiagRA, Diagnose-Tester) and Matlab Simulink
• Systematic understanding of hybrid and electric vehicles-high-voltage training is of advantage
• Basic knowledge of development processes and organizational processes during system development
• Knowledge of charge-management (control, communication with infrastructure, etc.)
• Good knowledge and experience in the areas of power electronic components and circuitry
• Very good level of English
• Independent consideration of neighbouring areas of responsibility for interlinked development processes
• High level of motivation, ability to work independently, customer orientated behavior, ability to work in an intercultural environment
• Very good level of English - both spoken and written is required
