Primary Purpose
Responsible for VP’s business and administrative assistant related work, supporting market industry intelligence and providing the marketing and product management teams’ guidance on their market research needs. Strong coordination/collaboration skills necessary to gather additional insights from the customer base on a regular basis. Understanding how to maximize internal databases and interactive tools to continually garner industry insights is critical.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Market Research (60%)
1. Provides insights and analysis for market industry data and primary market research that shapes the strategic direction and actions planned
2. Directs market and customer research efforts to support tactical marketing and planning activities, customer service initiatives and strategic investment opportunities.
3. Supports consumer and market research, supervising contract research firms.
4. Provides research direction and tools to the product and marketing teams to understand the VOC for current and future product lines and messaging opportunities.
Prepares budgets and quotes for the product and marketing teams that support their research needs & objectives.
Market Intelligence
1. Identifies and monitors competitive trends through industry data and make recommendations on responses or actions as appropriate.
2. Combs syndicated data and publications, analyzes and provides actionable insights to the sales, marketing and product management teams.
3. Monitors competitive information and provide insights on competitive news, financials and intelligence. Reviews market position and identifies threats. Remains abreast of new opportunities and trends
4. Works within business intelligence tools that are tied to our IT platforms and sales/marketing tools.
5. Supports investigations into new acquisition opportunities that are a strategic fit to the current brand and product portfolio
6. Supports and executes demand forecasting, market modeling, and industry trend analysis.
Admin(30-40%)
1. Provide overall administrative support to GM and DGM, such as calendar arrangements, travel arrangements, and make expense claims, etc.
2. Schedule and coordinate appointments, and meetings, take meeting minutes and follow up action plans.
3. Serve as point of contact for cooperate visits and make arrangements.
4. GM office administrative management, including office supply purchases, preparing, reviewing and tracking applications, etc.
Other administrative related matters.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:
1. Organizes and analyzes data to prepare reports and presentation materials for a variety of management levels within and external to Tenneco.
2. Able to use a personal computer as an analytical tool, including word processing, spreadsheets, database management and presentation software.
QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS:
1.Bachelor's Degree in Marketing, Market Research is preferred.
2.A minimum of five (5) years’ experience in the market research field, with assistant related experience is preferred.
3.Prior experience using a market intelligence process and tools
4.Manufacturing industry working experience, Automotive or Automotive Aftermarket experience is a plus
5.Fluent English
6.Good communication skill

The joint venture partners are world-known Tenneco Automotive (TA), which owns 65% equity, and Beijing Automotive Industry Holding Co., Ltd. (BAIC), which owns 35% equity. The Register Funds is USD8.3 million. TBRC is engaged in designing, developing, manufacturing and marketing automotive shock absorbers.
