Reporting Relationships:
This position will report to the General Manager, China and ASEAN aftermarket
Roles:
The Product Manager is responsible for China and ASEAN AM product category management and sales profitability. Product Manager acts as a liaison between Tenneco and the customers in areas relating to, but not limited to, cataloging, pricing, product/part (introduction/maintenance/removal), classification, warranty, returns, and strategic initiatives. He/she will also manage customer Product Manager relations, category planning, provide line review support, product sales performance, and product/category/program implementations.
Working closely with sales and marketing, engineering and SCM team, internal and external suppliers to develop products and services in line with our product strategy to support our China and global aftermarket business growth.
Position Key Responsibilities:
1. Analyze China and global car parc data to identify coverage gap and sales opportunities. Ensure effective application coverage. Work closely with global product development team to support China and global coverage development.
2. Develop product design specs and packaging construction target and ensure of deliver targeted specs.
3. Pricing and cost / margin analysis to meet EBIT goals for product line.
4. Price Analysis against competition to develop strategies to apply adjustments and price increases.
5. Develop new products and products improvement to bring to market working with marketing, sales, manufacturing and engineering
6. Work with sales force to schedule and conduct customer focus groups to insure and understanding of customer wants / needs.
7. Develop and ensure execution of product plans for all assigned product lines.
8. Implement project / product planning procedures to guide development of new products.
9. Work with / visit local jobbers / installers to maintain practical perspective on all assigned product lines.
10. Organize sample purchases, product development and samples testing.
11. Develop database of China vehicle models and OEM part numbers cross-reference to our products
12. Work with marketing team to develop effective marketing tools such as product catalog, all product related printed materials, sales collateral and training materials, etc.
13. Act as a window of contact for all product related enquiries and issues.
Requirements:
1. University degree holder, an automotive or mechanical engineering background would be an advantage
2. Minimum 5 years working experience, with proven success in an Automobile Parts Industry for aftermarket product development and management capacity, or for related products. Candidate with lesser working experience would be considered as Product Engineer
3. The ideal candidate would demonstrate good business acumen, aggressive and be able to work with global team.
4. Good English and Chinese, both in oral and writing would be required
5. Must possess excellent working knowledge of Microsoft Excel and strong working knowledge of internal software/systems (SAP, Cullinet, Data Warehouse), Lotus Notes, Microsoft Word, and Microsoft PowerPoint is required
6. Strong analytical and presentation skills
7. Must be able to work in a Team based environment
8. Knowledge of both China and ASEAN aftermarket business sector would be an advantage
9. Demonstrate ability to work under pressure, meeting multiple project deadlines
10. Ability to travel
