Position: Commodity Manager

Reporting to: AP Procurement Director


Responsibilities:
o Manage the assigned global commodities within the Global Sourced Products team.
o Engage with regional sourced product procurement managers and other internal stakeholders to capture business needs and specific commodity requirements and ensure supplier qualification and supplier performance.
o Responsible for developing, communicating and executing detailed commodity strategy:
o Assess opportunity for commodity including spend segmentation, commodity maturity, cost drivers, and global supply market analysis
o Develop Global Sourcing Strategy for commodity detailing projects, sourcing levers, timing, resources, and expected benefits
o Accountable for execution of sourcing projects including RFx, continuous improvement, consolidation, etc.
o Responsible for defining negotiations strategy including supplier profiles, commercial negotiations targets, defining switching costs, and building Total Cost of Ownership (TCO)
o Conduct or support negotiations and supplier selection - accountable for contract lifecycle management and compliance
o Identify & execute pipeline of value creation projects focused on improving the customer experience, reducing total cost, improving cash flow and generating incremental revenue with our sourced product supplier partners.
o Responsible for delivering commodity productivity through price, value analysis (VA) or continuous improvement projects. Partner with engineering, supplier development and logistics.
o Lead Supplier Relationship Management (SRM) and quarterly supplier reviews for all strategic suppliers within commodity.
o Responsible for commodity continuity of supply - engage with plants to efficiently resolve escalated issues and formally manage and secure supplier capacity.
o Actively monitor and mitigate supplier risk including financial, capacity, quality, and compliance
o Responsible for forecasting, reporting, mitigating, and recovery of commodity inflation
o Support Quarterly Commodity Reviews (QCR) including updated projects, metrics, strategy, and countermeasures
o Partner with Procurement managers – Sourced Products and regional PPM teams to implement or efficiently transition suppliers as needed.
o Lead innovation discussions and identify NPD/I opportunities with our Sourced Product supply partners.


Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
o Min. Bachelors Degree in Engineering, Supply Chain, Operations ,Business , or related field
o 5 to 7 years procurement sourcing experience, consulting, buyer, and/or analyst experience
o Experience with complex commodities / sourced products.
o Demonstrate competence in negotiating skills and assessing vendors.
o Candidate must have demonstrated experience coordinating, facilitating discussions, consultation and conflict resolution skills
o Professional communication in English language; both verbal and written are required.
o Ability to travel up to 40%

o Leadership: Demonstrated leadership skills including growth and development of teams
o Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to communicate and influence at all levels in the organization
