The core activity relates to the organisation and development of Working Groups/Forums (WG/F): to organise events related to regulations, coordinate the lobbying actions with EU and Chinese authorities, develop the industry related Working Groups and write events invitations and review articles, as well as trainings for members.
The existing Working Groups/Forums are: Small and Medium sized Enterprises (SME), Logistics, and SCA (Standard Conformity Assessment) and Manufacturing.
GOVERNMENT RELATIONS:
· Complete specific research on related issues/regulations/industries.
· Complete the contact list in the organisation charts of each Chinese official at city level and provincial level with names and roles by asking the support to Government Relationship Departments European Chamber member companies.
· Develop a lobby plan that includes identifying Chinese authorities to establish communication with and presenting the Position Paper.
· Establish, maintain and expand relations with identified Chinese authorities, by organising meetings with them for members.
Working Group/Forum and EVENTS:
· Identify topics, contact the speakers, prepare the agenda, and write the text of the invitation for assigned WG/F and related seminars, and coordinates with relevant colleagues for the practical realisation.
· Responsible for posting the events invitations on the website.
· Provide presentation material related to WG/F and related seminars.
· Coordinate on WG/F with colleagues Business Managers of the other Chapters.
· Provide assistance to WG/F on provision of Position Papers, drafting according to WG indications and final papers prior to overall review and production.
PROMOTION OF WGs and EVENTS:
· Organise and promote new WG/F. Seek new members for WG/F, monitor the WG/F meetings participants and keep an update of WG/F distribution lists.
· Provide relevant articles/input to monthly e-Newsletter/magasine/other Chambers and Consulates Newsletters.
· Write the WG/F meetings and events invitations and publicise them by all means.
· Provide relevant input to Chamber press releases.
E.U. ORGANISATIONS RELATIONS:
· Develop and maintain close relations with the Delegation of the European Commission in China and European Consulates when it is relevant.
· Develop relations and business contacts with European Business associations in Europe when it is relevant.
Desired skills and experience
- Organisational and presentation skills; creative mind and outgoing character; excellent written skills; capable of working in a team.
- University degree.
- Chinese language skills would be a plus.
- Fluency in both written and spoken English is required.
- A previous working experience of minimum 3 years. Previous experience as events organisers, Chamber of Commerce or international organisation will be a plus.
- Knowledge and experience of international trade.
