General Description:

The Government Affairs Manager/Sr. Interpreter will report to Ford China GA Director. The position has the responsibility to assist the Director in evaluating and influencing government policies and programs that will be supportive of the Company in pursuing its growth strategies. This will include the internal interface with related skill teams for supporting policy advocacy and regulation compliance. The position also serves as senior interpreter for supporting company Sr. executives’ visits and meetings.

Responsibilities:

• Engage in policy tracking and analyzing, and lobby policy orientation. Assist GA Directors to develop accurate and timely reports, assessment and insightful advice concerning the Chinese economy, the political and regulatory environment, current policies and trends, as well as competitive activities.
• Provide technical and regulatory expertise to ensure strong alignment between Government Affairs and skill teams on key regulatory issues.
• Serve as interpreter for Company Sr. executives who present speeches or have discussions at various business events.
• Organize materials for optimal effectiveness, ensure effective and efficient communications, and maintain a follow-up system. And be responsible for consolidating minutes for key meetings.
• Support high level visits of top management of Ford and its Affiliates, auto and parts exhibitions, and joint ventures to China.
• Translate, orally and in writing, business-related documents and correspondence between Chinese and English, including technical materials.
• Assist with the helping to arrange the visits of high level Chinese delegations to other countries as appropriate to further strengthen understanding and Ford's position.

Qualification:

• Experience with a manufacturing background in heavy machinery, electronics or automotive related industries. Additional experience in product development or assembly exposure or auto background is desirable. Relationships and contacts with auto-relevant Government Agencies and industry associations would be extremely desirable.
• Position requires 8 years of significant work experience and service in translation and interpreting field. Multinational company experience is preferred.
• Position requires English major with a BA degree or above, plus professional translation training would be preferred.
• The candidate should have willingness to accommodate extensive travels as required.
• Position requires professionalism with dedication, responsibility, and teamwork orientation.
