POSITION PURPOSE
The Partnership Manager is a key member of the Deakin University China Office. The post is responsible for the development and delivery of the Partnership with Chinese universities, establishment of research projects, as well as policy research etc. The Partnership Manager is required to work collaboratively with Deakin International Office, Faculties, Divisions and other areas across the University and is expected to contribute significantly to the development of strategies on partnerships, research and policy.
POSITION CONTEXT
Deakin University China Office has responsibility for leading and driving the achievement of the University’s internationalization objectives in China Market. It does this by working collaboratively with Faculties, Divisions and other areas across the University.
The Partnership Manager contributes to this responsibility by developing strategies that lead to build and sustain relationships with Chinese universities in line with University targets.
The Partnership Manager reports directly to Deakin China Country Director. The Partnership Manager has close working relationships with marketing managers in Deakin China Office, as well as key stakeholders in the Faculties and other Divisions. This position is the focal point of contact for both internal and external enquiries associated with partnerships in China Region.
PRINCIPAL RESPONSIBILITIES AND KEY DUTIES
1. In conjunction with faculty staff and other senior stakeholders, develop a diverse range of institutional partnerships in line with university strategies.
2. Develop, implement and evaluate partnership strategies and research projects.
3. Representation of the University in senior level meetings, presentations and committees and other international and domestic promotional and benchmarking activities.
4. Provide strategic advice and market intelligence to the university regarding specific market information, opportunities for new partnership development, and changes in policies.
5. Participate and actively engage in relevant networking events/conferences.
SELECTION CRITERIA - ESSENTIAL
Training/Qualifications:
? Master degree or above.
Experience:
? Demonstrate experience in marketing education services globally including relevant social media and online campaigns.
? Cross cultural awareness and sensitivity.
? A track record of success in universities research centre has been highly preferred
Skills/Techniques:
? Excellent interpersonal skills with the proven ability to establish effective relationships with Chinese universities, research institutions, government bodies, contacts, customers and colleagues across different cultural settings.
? Demonstrated ability to successfully develop and implement innovative partnership strategy and to generate data reports that track performance against stated objectives.
? Demonstrated high level commitment to the provision of excellent customer service and evidence of exceeding customer expectations.
? Demonstrated ability to work both independently and as a team member in a competitive and demanding environment.
? High level planning and organisational skills.
? Ability to collect and collate data and create evidence based reports
? Ability to successfully manage financial resources.
? Excellent written and oral communication skills.
SELECTION CRITERIA - DESIRABLE
? Sound knowledge of Chinese Higher Education and research policies and Australian Higher Education Sector
? Demonstrated experience and success in developing and sustaining partnerships with Chinese institutions.
? Proficiency in both English and Mandarin.

? Will be required to travel frequently
