Position Summary:

Lead supplier qualification activities - from initial product concept through the first production orders - in support of new product launches and/or new supplier qualifications. Work closely with supplier, sourcing, product, engineering, materials, and supplier quality groups to develop and execute project plans. Lead multiple, timed projects that will often require the utilization of shared resources and involve conflicting / overlapping project timelines.

Duties and Responsibilities:
? Responsible for managing the development process for new product color standards as well as supervising the color standard refresh process across all Asia suppliers.
? Verify technical drawings and make recommendations to improve construction methods in order to ensure design-for-manufacturability and/or yield optimization, as well as proactively identify and close drawing gaps before first production run is initiated.
? Educate suppliers regarding MBCI lab test procedures and requirements in order to increase the first-pass qualification rates for all new product Lab and FAIR submissions.
? Clarify and communicate all new product specifications to suppliers during the initial development stages of new product development / launch timelines and proactively close specification gaps for new products.
? Direct and supervise all work activities of (2) regional Finish Specialists who are responsible for providing technical leadership direction to component suppliers, finish material suppliers, and on-site supply quality teams.
? Develop and proactively drive timely schedule completion of color standard development, specification documentation, Lab/FAIR submittal, 3rd party packaging testing, on-site Trial qualification, and initial production run requirements.
? Closely monitor the completion of both internal and external team deliverables, track project plan attainment, and drive accountability.
? Provide guidance to internal and external team members and as required to ensure timely completion of finish-related deliverables.
? Complete critical path, PERT, and CPM analyses in order to highlight project-related risks
? Ensure that Finish Specialists are properly conducting thorough finished product reviews for assigned suppliers as required to ensure mixability across multiple suppliers.
? Work with suppliers to develop a steady stream of new product concepts / designs and submit these to the MBCI product marketing groups for presentation to customers.
? Work closely with manufacturing, quality, and product groups to resolve non-compliance issues related to visual appearance, specifications, or lab test performance gaps.
? Develop standardized supplier manufacturing process control methodologies, packaging and product handling methods, materials management plans, inspection plans, etc.
? Provide regular team updates to ensure qualification status, critical issues, and potential roadblocks to successful completion are clearly communicated to all key stakeholders.






Skills and Abilities:
? Superior color discrimination as scored by Munsell Color Acuity test is required.
? Ability to utilize root-cause analysis and corrective action process methodologies and aggressively follow through to completion and verification phase.
? Excellent technical proficiency in wood manufacturing processes is required.
? Strong problem solving and communication skills are required for this position.
? Ability to interact well with others and create a positive teamwork environment required.
? Strong computer skills in MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access, and Minitab required.
? Advanced Excel programming and macro development using Visual Basic preferred.
? Demonstrated experience with Lean / Six Sigma deployment strongly preferred.

Knowledge, Experience, and Education:
? 5+ years of international project management and team leadership experience with a focus on new product development and program launches is strongly preferred.
? Background in kitchen cabinet and/or furniture industries is preferred but not required
? Education: Bachelor of Science (or equivalent) degree in Engineering, Business, Economics, or Industrial Technology is required.
? Verbal and written fluency in both English and Chinese (Mandarin) is required.
? Proficiency in Vietnamese language is also strongly preferred, but not required.

Travel:
? Required to travel up to 70% throughout Asia in order to support MBCI supplier facilities. 举报 分享
