Context:
Work in a newly established R&D centre with a dynamic, stimulating environment, competitive compensation and plenty of opportunities to grow professionally, in an organization providing service gateways, digital set-top box, digital mobile TV and broadband networking products.
Job description:
- Own & support upgrade tool called 'PCC-AT', used to SW upgrade all our SGW (Service GateWays)
- Responsible from R&D point of view for all cables, DSL- filter, splitters and adapters used for SGW
- Expert/support function for all processes related to customization activities on SGW.
Detailed:
o PCC-AT
§ Own PCC-AT and drive new releases from requirements till finall acceptance. Build a roadmap and ensure optimal alignment with future product features.
§ Install and maintain the various PCC-AT releases & configurations worldwide (Poland, France, Belgium, China) and train/support onsite staff.
§ Monitors performance and support operational use of PCC-AT in Customization Centres (Poland), after sales (France). Validates performance statistics and escalates unusual and undesirable behaviours and effects.
§ Support QACC team that validates PCC-AT compatibility for all new SGW SW releases, boot loaders & platforms (, second source components).
§ Supports CPR team in case of customized SW issues on PCC-AT by gathering, consolidating and providing required data to SW team and work with them to solve the problem.
§ Assist rework activities of products and clearing of blocked stock related to SGW software upgrades via PCC-AT.
o Customization process expert
§ Support CPR team in specific and the organization in general as expert on customization processes in production; Tampon printing, labelling, printers, barcode scanners, barcodes...
§ Owns process and defines technical data files that are sent to the customization centres and the customers [for instance for provisioning servers in the network]
§ Provide consolidated requirements to customization centres for new processes and improvements. Validate correct implementation and release new processes.
o R&D owner of Cables, Filters, Splitters, Adapters
§ Owns introduction of new CABLES. Plan, execute and follow up new cables requests assuring on time introduction and release. Manages technical issues after release and supports factory transfers.
§ Owns introduction of new DSL FILTER, SPLITTER and ADPATERS. Follow up new requests assuring on time introduction and release. Manages technical issues after release and supports factory transfers.
§ Provide active support on definition and implementation of process-, cost improvement projects and factory transfer.
Required profile:
Personality
- Highly motivated
- Pro-active attitude and take initiative
- Able to handle multiple projects/tasks in parallel.
- Social and easy in communication as the job requires interaction with numerous people: internal departments, suppliers & subcontractors all over the world.
- Is able to work in a multicultural environment (Asia, Europe and America)
- Is willing to travel for short periods to install PCC-AT lines or resolve urgent issues on site worldwide.
- Accuracy and first time right is key
- Is hands on & result driven.
Skills
- Fluent communication skills in English (spoken and written).
- MS office knowledge mandatory: Outlook, Excel.
- Knowledge of (for PCC-AT): MSSQL, general networking and IT (Windows XP installation, make HD images...)
- Knowledge on industrial processes for customization (barcode reader, barcodes, label printers, tampon printing
- Knowledge on technical aspects of cables, DSL- filter, splitter and related tests procedures.
- Be able to use applications: Wireshark (Ethernet traces), Codesoft (label printing)
- Experience with SGW is strong plus
