GENERAL SUMMARY:
The Actuarial Associate provides high level support which assists in achieving organizational and departmental goals. The candidate should have minimum 3-5 years of experience performing detailed actuarial analysis related to pricing, reserving, predictive modeling, reinsurance, and/or financial health of companies/clients with supervision.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND ACCOUNTABILITIES:

Workload & Responsibilities (65%)

Pricing and underwriting
? Completes rate development for products offered in Asia
? Completes regular experience analysis to update pricing assumptions when relevant
? Gathers information and incorporates feedback from different internal departments
? Supports new business process with projections, sensitivities, actuarial memo and follow up questions
? Understands and applies basic underwriting principles
? Understands and applies basic reinsurance and CLIP principles
? Reviews contracting documentation to ensure consistency with pricing basis

Client and product support
? Understands the products offered in Asia and provides support to the business unit and functional areas
? Completes experience and/or profitability reviews independently for specified clients

Analysis and forecast
? Supports forecasting process as directed
? Shares relevant experience analysis findings with peers and other internal departments

Reserving
? Knowledge of basic earnings methods and understands how they impact loss ratios and reserve analysis
? Proficient in the use of appropriate reserve methodologies

Data
? Locates and reconciles data from various source systems; ensures accuracy and recognizes adjustments needed for possible data anomalies
? Supports IT with product set up
? Assists with collecting data and responding to inquiries from auditors and functional areas
? Identifies system and data inefficiencies; provide recommendations to resolve

Relationship Management (20%)
? Proactively works to build strong relationships with business, peers, manager, and other departments
? Communicates realistic deadlines and prioritizes projects
? Understands how to leverage knowledge and skills from team and other functional areas to accomplish goals

Self Development (15%)
? Takes actuarial exams in pursuit of professional designation
? Familiarizes themselves to Assurant’s products and business units; becomes aware of industry trends influencing Assurant’s business and questions items that can be incorporated in analysis
? Learns new software to maintain ability to complete work in an efficient and effective manner

SPECIAL SKILLS AND ABILITIES REQUIRED:
? Mandarin speaker
? English speaker
? Strong communicational skills

EDUCATION:
? Bachelor’s degree and a minimum of 2-3 exams completed

EXPERIENCE:
? Minimum of 3-5 years of progressive responsibilities and related experience in actuarial role
? Advance knowledge of most recent version of Microsoft Office applications, with an emphasis on Excel and Access. 举报 分享
